Remus Lupin looked up from a stack of exams he'd been grading on the study of fire crabs, someone had knocked on his door. He was just about to head out for the night.

Though he took his wolfsbane potion and would only turn into a simple wolf with his human consciousness, he'd rather play it safe than risk scaring a student by accident. The moon hadn't risen yet, so he had a few minutes left.

"Come in," Remus called to whoever was behind his classroom's door. Half expecting Minerva, he was a bit shocked seeing Valeria sheepishly step inside his classroom and shut the door behind herself. "Oh, hello, miss Vanity."

"Hi," Valeria nervously looked up at him. "Y-you wouldn't happen to have any..."

"Wolfsbane," Remus gave her a warm, understanding smile. "Made an extra batch just for you."

Remus opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a glass bottle of the deep purple potion. It had a sticky label on it that explained what it was, side effects, and when to take it.

"Thank you," She took the vial and popped the cork, not wasting any time, and promptly took a few sips of it. Remus was a bit taken aback seeing her drink it straight from the bottle, but figured she must not be new to the substance. "Are you... gonna go running?"

Remus nodded. "By the lake. A peaceful spot really, the stars reflect on the water and it's like a portal to a whole new world."

Valeria smiled a bit, beginning to feel comfortable with the older werewolf.

"Could... could I join you? I've not gone-" Valeria choked back tears. "I've not gone running alone and really don't wanna start. I used to do it with my dad..."

Remus smiled at her once again. "I'd be happy to show you around the grounds at night. It's beautiful, especially covered in snow. We'll be back before breakfast. When do you usually shift back?"

"Sunrise," Val answered. "You?"

"Before sunrise. I'd be happy to stay with you out on the grounds until you turn back and make sure you get inside the school okay. How's that sound?"
