The next morning, Valeria had spotted Malfoy at the Slytherin table and assumed he'd been sorted the night before. Last minute like she had. It didn't take long for her to realize that unfortunately she'll have to just come to terms with him being here.

The question was, how long was she going to be able to ignore him? Thankfully, with her friends, it shouldn't be too long, right?

Valeria sat down next to Hermione and with the trio, along with Luna and Neville. They'd been speaking in hushed voices, and stopped when she arrived.

"Val, we have a question for you."

"Okay," The silver haired girl eyed them. "What's up?"

"We're going to be starting a... club... of some sort," Hermione began. "And we want to know if you want to be a part of it."

"Depends on what kind of club it is," Val lightly chuckled, slightly nervous with how secretive they're all being. "What will we be doing?"

Harry glanced up at the staff to make sure none of them were watching them.

"A self defense club. Of some sort," Harry said. Reluctantly, Valeria listened. "If Umbridge isn't going to be teaching us proper use of defensive spells, I'll teach everyone."

Valeria rolled her eyes. "This isn't some redemption arc of yours is it? To cover up for your murder attempt?"

Harry looked guilty and hung his head a bit. Hermione stepped in. "Regardless of who's teaching it. They're important spells to learn. It's clear how much darker things are getting and someone's going to have to protect the school and the kids in it."

Valeria hated how right Hermione was. She wanted nothing to do with Harry let alone take any lessons of any kind from the boy. But in the back of her head she remembered Lupin telling her to try and get involved with extracurriculars to pass the time.

Now with Malfoy attending Hogwarts, she needs a distraction now more than ever.

God, she missed her boys.

"Fine," She sighed. "As long as Harry doesn't treat us like dumb students, I'm in."

"Do you agree to keep it secret? If any of the staff find out, we'll be shut down."

"Yeah," She agreed, though she didn't like the idea of keeping things secret from her mentor, Lupin. "As long as it's actually effective."

"You're throwing out a lot of 'ifs'," Harry narrowed his eyes. "How can we trust you?"

"What the hell else do I have to lose, Potter?" Valeria asked bitterly. "I'm joining your stupid club. Drop it. Don't let it explode your ego, because I'm only joining for myself, and for the school."
