Chris insisted on escorting you down stairs with an arm around you the entire time. His big warm hand gently resting on the small of your back. His eyes wandering over your body in a not so platonic way. And you loved it. You were eating up his attention. Right up until you made into the throng of people in the function room.
You decided to stick with Chris' sisters for the majority of the night and Chris went to spend some quality 'guy time' with Scott and some close cousins. It was lovely chatting and sipping champagne with the girls but you could feel his eyes on you. Watching you. Sending a silent prayer to the fashion gods, thanking them for the plunging neckline and booty hugging shape of the dress your thoughts took a turn and you were left wondering whether Chris was looking hard enough to notice your lack of panties.
After a few more drinks and your frustration starting to boil over at Chris for practically ignoring you all night you decide that maybe it would be a good move to flirt with one of his cousins. He was cute, your age, an executive at an art gallery and he started flirting first. At the least you figured you might be able to make Chis jealous. You could still feel his eyes on you.
In the middle of your conversation you felt someone come up behind you , grab your arm and start tugging you along. You whipped your head around to find Chris dragging you out onto the balcony of the function room without even looking at you. "What are you doing?" He demanded, having closed the bifold doors after you. "Ummmm I'm enjoying a polite conversation. And making NEW friends, seeing as my old ones just want to ignore me watch me from the other side of the room." You snarkilly replied infusing your words with as much venom as you could muster. He visibly winced at your response. "Look I didn't plan for this to happen. I want to be over there with you. I want to talk to you. I want to introduce you to my family. But I just...I can't do it." You were so frustrated with him you were about to throw a tantrum. And it was not going to be pretty.
"Y/N, I can't be with you without being WITH you. Do you understand?" He chimed in before you could start your rant. That comment threw you off a little, and in your drink addled mind his comment was just confusing. "Sorry could you just go over that last part again." He took a step closer to you, your bodies were so close you could feel the warmth radiating off his skin. "Y/N I can't stand to be around you as a friend. I need more."
"Wait, Chris, back up, rewind...what did you just say?" You needed to hear it again. Just for clarification. "It's hard enough sleeping on the couch when you're so close, in the apartment, on the bed. It's hard enough waking up and not being next to you. But I can't just stand there and watch you flirt with some guy you don't even know when you should be with me. As more than a friend. Especially in that dress." Haha you knew it! He loved the dress. And he was jealous that you were flirting with someone else. Ok you had to focus your thoughts on what he had said and what that meant. He just admitted his feelings. And his desires. He liked you as much as you liked him.
Suddenly there was nothing in your way, nothing to stop you. You stepped closer to Chris, put your arms around his neck and gently pressed your lips against his. His arms instantly snaked around your waist , smashing your body against his and deepening the kiss. "Wait wait wait, so this DOES mean that you like me too right?" He asked. Now it was him waiting for clarification.
"Chris I like you. I like you a lot." He cracked a stellar smile and leaned his forehead against yours. "Like...more than a friend?" He asked cheekily. "Waaaay more than a friend you goofball." And the kiss picked up where it had left off. Chris' arms were wrapped around your waist and his tongue found it's way gently into your mouth. Kissing Chris was like being in heaven. It was everything you had imagined it would be like and more. "Sooo maybe we should skip the end of this party and make our way up to our apartment?" He suggested kind of shyly. "Hmmmm that sounds like a plan to me." You took his hand walked swiftly back inside and out the function room trailing a chuckling Chris behind you.
