It's been a few weeks since the encounter between Kunikida and Dazai at the cafe. The dreams haven't stopped, the quantity just keeps increasing, and it's beginning to take a lot out of Dazai.24 hour days. Dazai sleeps through around 18. These dreams are a problem. A BIG problem. They aren't even informative, just always about Kunikida, well almost. There's been a few times where Mori was featured. Terrible, he acted worse than in reality; that old man always appeared when Dazai felt the worst, at his lowest.
The dreams eventually began to suck the life out of Dazai, every time he woke up from own, he felt worse. He felt more empty, if that was even possible. However empty he already was, the dreams threatened to make his facade transparent and that was the worst problem.
He couldn't be bothered enough to keep up his fake personality anymore, he still tried of course but who knew how long that would last.
His ongoing support with all of his was Kunikida, at this point Dazai could barely stop thinking about the blond. Out of 24 hours a day, he slept 18, and thought of Kunikida for 4. 4 hours is quite a generous amount considering all the dreams still had Kunikida within them.
It's sudden, did he miss a chapter of his life? Why was this all happening?
And there it was again, the throbbing migraine that transpired every time he was about to be taken into the dream.
"..."
Oh well, here we go again.
"Dazai-kun, is everything okay?" The familiar voice asked, it didn't sound like Kunikida, oh no. It's him, the person Dazai wished he never met.
"..." Dazai's reply was simply silence, he didn't want to speak to Mori of all people. He barely felt like speaking to anyone in the first place, Kunikida being the exception.
"It's not polite to ignore when someone asks you a question." Evidently, Mori won't give up and leave. Yep, we got that figured out.
Silence. Dazai didn't even bother to look at Mori, he couldn't. Why did he appear in this dream?
"Silent again, Dazai-kun?" The raven haired man's voice was proof enough that he was losing patience.
More silence occurred.
Suddenly, Mori grabbed Dazai's arm tightly to the point it hurt. Dazai's gazed immediately transfixed onto his arm, his eyes widening, the action shook him to his core. It wasn't because the old man's tight grip was hurting him, it was the man's audacity to touch him. It felt so real. It brought so many bad flashbacks.
After a minute, Mori let go and acted like nothing ever happened.
"Oh well, I suppose it can't be helped." A vile smile was painted on Mori's face, he enjoyed seeing that reaction from Dazai. "Right then. Dazai dear, I must be leaving now. I promised my sweet Elise a new dress, and I wouldn't dream of disappointing her. What a pleasure it was to talk with you again."
As Mori walked off, Dazai muttered a few words under his breath, he didn't like how Mori referred to him as dear.
"Don't call me that, you bastard.."The rest of the dream was a blur, it seemed like the rest was not how the story was meant to go.
Dazai awoke disappointed from that dream, he didn't even get to see Kunikida. Good thing was that he can sulk about that for the next few days, it was a Saturday morning. There was no work til Monday as there usually isn't on the weekends, with a few exceptions. He could sit in his room all day doing nothing except staring at a blank wall. It didn't bother him, he was rather hollow. The most he would do is minimal thinking.
