"Nagina Solaris."

Nagina Solaris and her daughter Kosi looked up upon hearing Nagina’s name to see a Fire Force soldier enter her home and she immediately gestured for her daughter to stay behind her. He gave Nagina a stone-cold stare, one that emitted death and made Koshi tremble.

"I am Lord Hibachi Shinmon. I have come here to lay you to rest." The Fire Force soldier said to Nagina.

Koshi clenched the back of her mother’s shawl as her eyes began to water, when the man glanced at her, her tears began to stream down her face due to how terrifying this man was and how ominously he looked at her.

Nagina closes her eyes for a second and then looks at Koshi. “Koshi, go upstairs to your room, okay?”

She tapped Koshi’s arm with her index finger on the hand she used to place Koshi behind her and hold Koshi’s arm protectively. Koshi responds by looking up at her mother sadly. Nagina signaled her to hide and run.

Koshi was quiet for a second until she sadly said, “…okay.”

She lets go of her mother and walks to the bottom of the staircase.

“Koshi,” Nagina says as Koshi looks at her. “I love you.”

Koshi sniffles. “I love you too.”

Koshi begins to walk upstairs, when she makes it to the second floor she can hear her mother and Hibachi talking. She quickly makes it to her bedroom and locks the door, she then moves the rug on her floor aside to reveal a secret door. She reaches out for the handle but stops. ‘… What if he knows I’m hiding?’

While Hibachi said he would lay Nagina to rest, what if he also does the same to Koshi? It would be smart to at least hide somewhere else. Somewhere outside of her home, like the evacuation spot. Maybe her aunt and cousins were also there, along with the rest of their people. And if that’s the case, they could all leave. But what about her mother?

And how are they going to explain what happened to Imani? If Nagina is being executed, does that mean she will become the High Priestess now?

Koshi shakes her head and focuses back on the point at hand right now, and that is escaping. She opens the window to her room and carefully crawls out, she then slowly and quietly climbs down to not make Hibachi aware of her sneaking away. As she reached the ground, she slowly tiptoed around to the front of the house as she could hear some of the conversation between Hibachi and her mother.

“—I was ordered to lay all of you to rest.”

Koshi froze upon hearing Hibachi say that to Nagina from inside her home.

“And you and your daughter are the last ones.”

Tears streamed down Koshi’s face as she turned away from the house and stood up so she could run, suddenly she came to a halt as she looked at the scene before her. In the streets of her village lay ashen corpses of her fellow Infinites.
