CHAPTER 2

9 HOURS AGO:

At Mumbai airport.

Team India was finally back after a successful series against New Zealand. They were surrounded by a crowd of media portals and Paps the moment they step out which was unusual. They just looked at the surrounding panicked trying to grasp the situation just then the airport security intervened taking them into a waiting room.

"You guys rest here while our staff is managing the media", security staff said leading them in a waiting room.

"Is everything fine? why the media seems so desperate?" Mahi bhai asked alarmed.

"Well, sir we have nothing to do with that we are just following the orders.  Yeah but some members of your board are coming and they asked us to convey you that stay here until they arrive. So you can have a word with them", said the guard and left.

"Mahi bhai kya lagta hai kya hoa hoga"? asked Jinks as everyone settles in the room.

"Zyada se zyada kya hi hojana h ab", said Rishabh sighing only to earn a glare by bhuvi.

Meanwhile, Rohit just sat there silently staring in space. His gut feeling was saying something is wrong for 2-3 days and this sinking feeling just increased more now.

"Baat kya hai wo to unke aane ke bad hi pata chalega, so let's wait", said mahi bhai sitting at the sofa.

Aao Rahul jab tak wo aa nahi jate ham game khelte hn", Harry said grabbing his phone switching it on. His mobile starts beeping gaining everyone's attention.

Tujhe kon itne messages kar raha hai, asked Yuzi mischievously. 

He clicked on one of the message and the sound of a news anchor echoes in the room.

Anchor: "Hamare darshakon ko batate chalen ke Virat Kohli, the legend cricketer Virat Kohli jinke upr kuch samay pehle match fixing ka arop laga tha aaj unhon ne khud ko her ilzam se nirdosh sabit krdia h. Jee han darshakon Virar Kohli per legaye hoe sabhi aroop jhote sabit hogaye hain or khud ko nirdosh sabit karne ke liye unhin ne apni jan ki bazi lagadi hai. Hamen bohat nirasha se batana pad raha hai ke Virat Kohli ne khudko apni team, BCCI or duniya ki nazron me nirdosh sabit krne ke liye apni aaj ki baazi lgadi h. Hmare sootron ke anusar Virat ko 4 goliyan lagi hain or wo iss waqt Mumbai ke kisi private hospital me vivechanatmak halat me majood hn"..... and Harry dropped the mobile.

 "Ye koi prank video h na aisa.. aisa to kuch ho hi nhi skta haina mahi bhai", he said with uncertainty lacing her voice. 

"Mene bola tha Virat bhaiya ne kuch nahi kiya wo kar hi nahi sakte aisa kuch", Rishabh mumbled in daze while everyone maniacally switches on their phone only to get the same gut-wrenching news.

"Kahin bhi nahi araha Virat kahan hai ye sab wahi bakwas kar rahe hain" Rohit said breathing heavily and smashed his phone on the wall and the juniors jump out of their skin.

"Rohit" Mahi bhai reprimanded him and he closed his eyes and took a deep breath 

"Ruko me dekhta hon kuch pata karta hon kuch nhi hoga cheeku ko wo theek hoga dekhna tum", Mahi bhai assured more to himself than to the team.

"City hospital. City hospital me hain Virat bhaiya" Rishabh said devastated as he grasped the situation of what actually had happened.

Everyone looked at him questioningly but rushed out of the airport the very next second. 

8 HOURS AGO:

The entire ride to the hospital was probably the longest and hardest for them. And at last that blurry journey ends and the bus stopped at the entrance of hospital. They all jumped out of the window running crazily inside the hospital. At that moment they were least concerned about the people around them or the media or anything, all they want at that moment was to see if Virat is fine or not.
