Jane Walsh was the sweetest little six year old anyone had ever met and she always wanted to meet people. She liked to talk to them because when she did it would allow her to speak to other people as well, Jane's family carried an ability of being able to speak to people who were dead, because of this Jane had always struggled to make other friends her age because their parents would tell them not to go near her or her family because they 'weren't normal' it didn't bother Jane much because she could always just spend time with her friends that only she could see. Jane had always been able to see and speak to people who had passed on but they had never been able to speak back to her unless she interacted with their living family, then she could communicate with them fully and pass on messages and speak to their family. Even though their life was hard her mother always tried her best to give Jane the best life that she possibly could, Jane always got whatever she wanted for Christmas and she always recieved lots of presents on her birthday from both her mother and her father so she had had a great childhood so far the only thing she wished she had was more time with her father, he had left them two years ago and it had broken her heart at the time, when he was first moving out she had clung onto her father and refused to let go until her mother had gently pried her off of her father and carried her back into their house letting her father leave. Jane was a rather bright young girl in her school she was exceptionally smart for her age and could read all on her own and could write legibly, she had perfected it because during her recess at school no one would ever want to play with her so instead she would sit at one of the picnic benches and work on her reading and writing. Currently Jane was packing her weekend bag because her father was supposed to be on his way to come and pick her up, she was excited to see her father because she had some school work to show him that her teacher had put a gold star on for how good it was. He had also told her that they could go out for ice cream and meet up with her aunt Lori and her cousin Carl because her uncle Rick was still in hospital after being hurt at work. Her mother was currently in their sitting room watching the television with a worried look on her face as she saw the news broadcast about what was going on outside, she was worried about what this meant for them, she was worried for her daughter's safety and her own as she watched the news broadcaster get brutally attacked and tore apart on air, Candice gasped and jumped up from her seat running to grab her daughter and pack some things of her own "Baby?!" Candice called out for her daughter who popped her head around the corner "Yes mommy?" Jane asked with her teddy bear, who she called sheriff, held tightly in her arms, it was a bear that her father had bought her when she was two years old. After her father had left she had become a lot more attached to the bear "Baby, mommy needs you to go and pack some more clothes into your camping bag and she needs you to grab your school pack, okay?" Candice says to her daughter who nods and runs back into her room to start packing as Candice quickly heads to her own room to pack her things, she also grabs her photo album with photos from Jane's childhood and even as far back as her wedding. Just as they were finishing up packing their things a car swerved into their driveway and a man jumped out and ran towards the house "Candice?! Janie?!!!" The man shouts into the house as Jane ran towards him "DADDY!" She shouts happily and he picks her up and hugs her tightly as Candice brings their bags through "Shane? What the hell is going on out there?" Candice asks him and he shrugs his shoulders "I don't know but they're saying on the radio that there's a safe zone in mid Atlanta, got Lori and Carl in the car waiting as well so lets go now." Shane says talking one of the bags from Candice putting it over his shoulder as he holds Jane with the other arm, and she smiles down at her father "What about uncle Rick?" She asks and Shane doesn't answer her but puts her in the back seat and she slides into the middle seat beside Carl who smiles at her and she smiles back at him "Hi Jane." Carl says and she smiles back at the boy "Hi Carl." She says and he goes back to reading the comic book in his lap but Jane can see that his cheeks are slightly red and so she gets curious about it, "Carl?" She asks and he looks at her as her mother gets in to the car and starts talking to her aunt Lori, "are you okay? You look like you've been crying?" Jane asks quietly and Carl sighs and looks out the window as Shane slams the boot of the car shut and runs to the drivers side "my dads dead." Is what Carl says and Jane is confused so she looks around to see her uncle Rick but she doesn't "no he's not." She says shaking her head and Lori sniffles assuming that Jane just means that she believes he's still in hospital. Jane sees that Carl still looks upset so she hands him Sheriff and he smiled at her and put his arm around her as he hugged the bear tightly with his other arm and Shane put the car into reverse and began heading for the highway, Jane continued to look around the car for her uncle Rick because if he was dead why couldn't she see him? Her mother Candice was doing the same thing looking around for any traces of one of her oldest friends.
