Seven years into Morgan's reign
The Abbey will soon be filled with thousands of people. Waiting for me, the new Prince of Rome. I hope I will not disappoint.
I slip on my red velvet gloves. Everyone in Western Europe has come: Kane, Matilda, Arthur, Charles, Malcolm, Keegan, Wilhelm, Harold and Louis.
" Daddy", William says as he walks into the room. " Hey Will", I say as I grab William and spin him around the room. I sit William down, " I thought you already got crowned", William says. " Yes son, as King of Wales, not Prince of Rome", I answer as we walk out of the room and down the stairs.
" Sorry to interrupt Your Royal Majesty, your Mother wants to speak with you, she's in the lounge", Dylan informs me after bowing. " Thank you Dylan", I answer.
" Okay son, go get dressed", I say, William hugs me tight. I walk into the lounge, Mother sits on the sofa, her legs crossed. " Hello Mother", I say after shutting the door.
" I wanted to say how proud I am of you. I wish your Father was here to you", Mother says tearing up. I sit down next to her. " I miss him too. I think about him a lot", I say nearly crying.
" I remember when you and Albert were still young. I can't stand to see you grow up, I miss your Father, I miss Albert", Mother says crying.
I remember the day Albert died, he slipped onto some ice and fell into the river, Father quickly ran over and jumped in, but Albert was buried under ice.
I remember when Father came up shivering, without Albert. I fell to the ground and cried, it seemed like hours, it was only minutes.
" I miss them too", I say crying into my hands. Mother wraps her arms around me and holds me tight. " After the ceremony, we'll go see their graves", Mother says, I wipe away my tears.
" Thank you for always being here Mother", I say, the door opens as Anna walks in holding our baby girl. Anna gave birth right after I got back from Canterbury last year.
We decided to name her Joann. " The ceremony is taking place soon", Anna informs me. " Yes of course", I say after standing up. I kiss Joann's forehead.
I fix my hair and walk down the hall, turning into the ceremony room. Rows of pews sit as hymns play. " Ceremony begins in one hour", Louis says sitting in a pew. " I'll be ready", I say confidently.
--------------------
" May God bless this sacred house", Louis reads. Breath, calm down. I open the door, trumpets and drums play. I walk down the aisle as all stare towards me.
I get down on my knees and place my hand on the bible. " Morgan Dinefwr, King of Wales. We are here to give a position, a new way of life. Do you swear to uphold the laws and principles of the Roman Catholic Church?", Louis asks.
" Yes, I solemnly swear to uphold the laws and principles", I say firmly. " Do you swear to forgive sinners, and show weakness in the eyes of God?", Louis asks.
" Yes, I solemnly swear to forgive sinners and show weakness", I answer. Louis pours holy water onto my head. " You are blessed by God", Louis says, I stand up.
" I crown you, Morgan Dinefwr, King of Wales. As Prince of Rome, Prince of God, and Defender of the Faith", Louis says firmly. Louis grabs the gold crown from on top of the bible and places it onto my head.
I grab the golden scepter and my anointing globe from the table and hold them. " All hail King Morgan the Great of Wales, Prince of Rome, Prince of God, and Defender of the Faith", The crowd cheers. I look over and find Anna, Mother and William cheering.
I walk down the aisle and into the hallway. A Prince of Rome, a Prince of God.
--------------------
" Thank you for coming Louis", I say after hugging Louis. " Do you God-given duty", Louis says as he walks outside. Dylan shuts the door.
" I'm proud of you M", Anna says hugging me. " Me and Mother are going outside to see Father and Albert's graves, do you want to come?", I ask William and Anna.
They both nod, we walk down the hall and outside the back door. I'll never forget carrying their caskets, I make no mistake quickly finding the graves.
Rhodri Dinefwr, King of Wales. Albert Dinefwr, Duke of Dinefwr. I get on one knee and rub the tombstones. " This was your Grandfather and Uncle Albert", I inform William. " They meant a lot to me", I say crying.
William hugs me, a weight lifted from my shoulders. I know they can see me now. I will see them again, some day.
