Twenty years into Morgan's reign

Desmond Castle has become a second home for our family. Our family likes to run a test on new arrivals, we tested Wilhelm and Arthur, they both passed.

Alexandra is slowly becoming a part of this family, and the final test is at Desmond Castle. This will decide everything.

I take off my crown and sit it on my desk. I put my grey hat over my brown hair. I put on my autumn jacket and slip on my black rain boots.

I grab my cane and walk down the hall. The rest of the family stand in their hunting gear. " Sorry for the hold up. Is this your first time hunting Alexandra?", I ask as we walk outside, the cold air blows.

" No, my father and I loved hunting", Alexandra says as I grab everyone a crossbow. " Let us go", I say as we walk into the hills.

We decided to hunt bucks, we want two, but sometimes you just get unlucky. I lick my thumb and point it in the wind, the wind comes from the north.

" Let us continue", I whisper as we all crouch down. " William, Andreas, Joann, Anna, you go left. Me and Alexandra will go right", I say. Everyone nods as we split up.

" So, how are you and William?", I whisper. " Good, he's so sweet", Alexandra says as we lie on our stomachs. " Look", Alexandra says pointing.

A beautiful stag eats grass. I ready my bow. " The wind is moving west now. Look at the clouds", Alexandra says. I line my shot, " Hopefully you're correct", I respond.

I fire the arrow, the stag falls to the ground. " Good job Alix", I say as we stand up. We walk over to the stag, a perfect neck shot.

" Beautiful work", Alexandra says as she helps me pick up the stag. " I see you got a stag", William says as he runs up to me. My back stings.

" Will, take it", I say as I hand William the stag. " Sorry my back hurts", I add. I feel myself aging, I'm already Forty-one. " A sick old man", William says after chuckling.

I laugh, " Respect your Father", I say with a smile. " Let us go back", Anna says as we all walk back towards the castle. " Alix did most of the work, thank her for dinner", I say smiling.

" You are a very humble man Morgan", Alexandra says as we walk into the cattle. " John, help William skin this beast", I say. " Yes sire", John says as William and him carry the stag into the kitchen.

I sit down in my chair and take a sip of tea. " So Alix, tell us about yourself", I say after taking off my boots. Alexandra, Andreas, Joann and Anna sit down.

" What do you want to know?", Alexandra asks. " Anything. How are you settling in?", I ask. " Well, you all have been so nice", Alexandra answers.

" Have you and William talked about having kids?", I ask. " Morgan, that's private", Anna says. " No it's fine. We've talked about it, I don't think I'm ready to be a mother yet", Alexander answers.

" I never thought I wanted kids, now I have a boy who's married, a girl who is about to be an adult and a little rowdy six year old", I say after taking a sip of tea.

" Don't rush it though, take your time to make decisions", I add. Alix nods. " Thank you for the advice sir", Alix says. " You've passed", I say with a smile.

" There was a test?", Alix asks. " Of course there was, don't worry. Passed with flying colours", I say after taking a drink of tea.

Alix laughs, " Good job. Shall we get ready for supper", Anna says. They get up and walk into the dining hall. I take a sip of tea, I'm proud of that girl.

Sir John gives everyone their plates. " Thank you John. Sit down for dinner", I say as I pull out a chair. " Your welcome sire", John says, he sits down as everyone eats.

" Thank you for cutting up this meat you two", I say. " Father, I have  a question", William says hesitatingly. " Yes Icarus", I say. " Me and Alexandra want to go on a royal tour of Kaiser Fritz's court at Aachen, could that be arranged?", William asks.

I grab a napkin and wipe my mouth. " Sure, consider it a honeymoon", I say with a smile. " Daddy, I was wondering when we get back to Wales, could we go to Grandmother's grave?", Joann asks.

My hand tenses up. " Um, sure Joann", I say as Anna holds my hand. I haven't thought about Mother in a while, but I've moved on. I'll always miss her, but moving on is important.

" I'm happy we can all be here. One loving family", I say after taking a sip of tea. Anna kisses my cheek. " To a better life", Alix says as she raises her glass. We all toast and drink our beverages.
