It was dark. It had been a long time since I was put on a different surface. I used to be in a warm place with all kinds of foods! Now I'm stuck on something rough but soft and I can only dink milk. I had identified my mother.
They called my mom Dakota. I heard footsteps again, walking towards the surface. Wait, where was that delicious smell I can always smell? Usually the footsteps bring something that smells good. Instead I smelled rubber and dirt, a little bit of sweat too.
"Dakota! Come here!" Called a voice. Who was this? It certainly wasn't a dog!
My mom got up and walked over. I was very confused. I tried to walk to mother but fell. She can't leave without me! I tried again and succeeded.
"Oh Ace! You are too young for training." Said the not dog.
Who was Ace? What was training? I have so many questions. I've had millions since birth. Some of them were answered but others were not answered.
The not dog picked me up and moved me somewhere else. I could tell I was high in the air. I felt my eyes move a little and I saw a slit of light. It was very bright but my eyes didn't care they just opened.
I sensed a change in the smell of the not dog. It smelled so amazing! I saw the not dog finally. She was tall! I still wondered why her scent changed though.
I barked at my mom and asked why the not dogs' scent changed. She simply just barked back that this was emotion. It smells good because the not dog is happy. I watched my mom leave and I decided to explore my kennel. I saw many things like a bed, food dish that was half eaten and some toys too!
I looked at the toys and attacked them. They just rolled around! This was fun! I realized I was being watched. There is a new smell now.
"Hahaha! Look at that puppy mommy! It's playing with the ball!" Said a not dog. She was definitely smaller then the other not dog next to her.
"He is cute but our dog is already trained. He's in kennel Z2." Said the not dog right next to the small not dog.
"Bye puppy!" Said the small not dog.
I smelled the small one. She smelled of sweat, stuffing, and there was something else I couldn't identify. I watched the girl walk away. Something about her, she was going to be my owner! I knew it!
The girl just kept looking at other puppies then something foul came in my nose. It was so foul. Then the girl just fell. Why didn't she get back up? I know, she fainted.
Sometimes not dogs faint because of I think it's called medival codas? No! Medical conditions! Sometimes they call it disabilities. She isn't waking up.
I barked to get attention then the girl woke up. This is good! She needs to pick me up and take me to a new surface! I'm her puppy! She didn't though.
