His feelings for this girl flooded in too fast. He wasn't sure what she had done to him but Elijah caught himself thinking about her dainty features and tough exterior.

Maybe the feelings rushed in too fast. He didn't think about anything else but her, no consequences. nothing. He wanted to get to know her. And he wanted to get to know her tonight, when she would arrive for another party.

Lana entered the gates of the compound once more. The party was quieter and everyone was kind of edgy due to the last event.

"Lana" Elijah approached her as soon as she got through the door

"Elijah" she breathed "lovely to see you" her lips pressing together to form a smile "the last time I saw you we were knee deep in wolf and witch blood"

"Yes, I agree not the nicest of sceneries I could have concocted" he laughed to himself

"Maybe you could try again?" She suggested

"Yes I could, I would enjoy your company in the quarter this minute as I believe a party full of vampires isn't the best scenery as well" Elijah looked around and back to Lana

"Maybe a walk outside would clear my
Mind, I've seemed to be spending an awful lot of time indoors recently" Lana turned immediately and walked out of the door "has there been any news from the witches and wolves yet?"

"Most of the wolves perished in the previous attack"Elijah informed her "the rest of them seek safety in the depths of the bayou, and the witches are still plotting against us"

"Maybe, if we offer the right price, we could win over the wolves" Lana suggested

"We have thought of that already, I am visiting them tomorrow" Elijah added

"Then I shall come along, wait for nightfall and we can bargain together" Lana demanded "I shall not let you go alone"

"You would just be waiting on the sidelines, there will be no point of you attending" Elijah stopped and turned around to look at Lana "also it could put you in danger"

"I think I have already proved myself when it comes to danger, my brothers used to teach me to fight when I was younger, that mixed with my new found strength, I am not a liability" she looked at him

Elijah didn't know what to do when the light of the crescent moon danced across Lana's pale skin and shone brightly in her eyes.

"But I cannot let you get hurt" he leant down and placed a small kiss on her lips.

Lana looked at Elijah confused. "I didn't know you would try and court me so soon, Elijah, it's not like you don't have the time" she laughed at him

"well, I cannot help myself when the moon only enhances your beauty" he caressed her cheek. Lana shut her eyes so the only thing she could feel was Elijah's gentle touch.

"You're charms are very sharp" she finally replied "who am I to resist what is in front of me?" She leant in forward and kissed him back

"I'm sorry to interrupt" a girl emerged from the darkness "but I have been trying to find you, Elijah" the woman's voice was quiet

"Do you know her?" Lana asked curiously stepping towards her, but being pulled back by Elijah immediately

"No, but I know she's a witch" Elijah growled

"I mean no harm" she walked out into the light so Elijah could see her face. She was absolutely gorgeous, her platinum blonde hair shine brighter than anything he had ever seen before and her crystal blue eyes were so unique that he was almost lost in them.

"I believe you" he said, staring at her innocence.

"Elijah" Lana tried to snap him out "are you sure?"

"I'm sure" he smiled to her, and then began to stare at the witch once more "what is your name?"

"My name is Maria" she smiled sweetly, it almost made Lana sick "and I hope to keep this a secret from the witches because I'm here to help you"

"Elijah, we should get going" Lana intervened, weaving her arm through Elijah's and pulling him away. "If you mean what you say, you shall find us again, a place and a time that is suitable" she turned around with Elijah and left.

Jealousy. That was the only word she could some up on the walk home. Absolute and utter jealousy crept through her as she thought about how pretty the witch was, how innocent and pure compared to the image of Lana covered in blood of witches and wolves.

And Elijah, well when the witch was out of sight, he could focus on Lana. However Maria stuck in the back of his mind when he looked at Lana.

"I apologise for that" Elijah broke the silence

"It seems that every moment we spend together seems to be cut short" she sighed

"But at least we have gotten one thing out of tonight" Elijah leant down again and kissed Lana longer, forgetting about that mystery witch and getting lost in Lana's touch outside the compound gates.

"Yes" she smiled in return "I guess we did"
