The week was slow and boring..which included sitting by Al's bed every nights and checking on Neville once a day.
Rosie was sitting in her Charms classroom and Professor Brightway was in the front talking about some spells that Rosie didn't care about. Her mind was else where, in the hospital.
There was a light knock on the classroom door, Rosie wasn't interested at all. Unless of course it was Neville coming to give her the good news. Unlikely.
"Hold it there, come in!" Brightway said, walking toward the door.
He opened it and revealed Professor Whitetent, he was looking tired and exhausted but Rosie was pretty sure he was not as exhausted as she was.
"How may I help you?" Brightway ask
"Can I borrow Miss Weasley for the rest of the lesson?"
"No problem, she can catch up on the rest soon enough with that brain." The charms professor smile easily and gesture for Rosie to follow Whitetent.
Rosie stood up lazily, unwilling to go. She went through the door and followed Whitetent through the corridor.
"Rosie! Cheer up!" Whitetent said, he was by far the only one that knows about their adventure.
"How? Professor? and where are we going?"
Whitetent gave her a smile and said "We're going to the Headmistress!"
Rosie's heart almost leaped out, taking a deep breath, calming herself
"Professor Mcgonagall? She all right? I saw her in the hospital, and can you tell me how she got petrified?" She said, trying not to yell.
"That'd be her story to tell, and she wants to hear yours too. Go on, I'm not going in with you." Whitetent gave an encouraging smile and pushed Rosie toward the office.
"Professor? WAIT!!" Rosie shouted, Whitetent had forgotten to tell her the password.
She turned around, but Whitetent was no where to be seen.
"Umh....Lemon tree?" She tried, nothing happened.
"Dumbledore?" The statue was still, she sighed, how was she ever going to get the right password?
"Ok, this is that last one, or else I'm going back to Charms. Sherbet Lemon."
The stature started to turn, and magically the password worked. Rosie stepped in and found herself inside the office.
It was very different to the one she visited last time, the wooden table was fixed and all the objects were back in place. And behind the table, Mcgonagall was smiling warmly at her.
"Have a seat Rosie." She gestured at the chair on the other side of the table, Rosie nodded and sat herself.
"I'm pretty sure, Rosie, that you are eager to know my story. Though I have a feeling that you, Miss Weasley, should tell you tale first."
Despise all the curiosity Rosie had to know Mcgonagall's story, she felt like telling someone about their adventure might lighten the load in her heart a bit.
Rosie took a deep breath and started her story, once the words were out, she couldn't stop. The details and the sentences formed in her mind were out of her mouth before she realize it, she seemed to be the one watching all the thing happening instead of being in it. All the events replayed in her mind as she transformed them into words and sentences, from the moment when she finished the Charms event, to Al's departure, then from the battle to the Slytherin basilisk. Al reappeared, and how Lestrange was petrified.
She ended the story with tears coming out of her eyes, regretting the fact that she let Al walked out of his hiding. It was all her fault, all hers, that Al was petrified.
Mcgonagall did not speak a word, she handed Rosie a box of tissues which she accepted gratefully. Somehow, she felt comfortable around this wise, old and experienced headmistress that she had never before have deep relationship. Her kind gaze made her feel important, and she felt like she could cry all day in this room and Mcgonagall would still be there for her. Maybe it was that thought, that made her stop crying, she knew that she needed to be strong and to be strong, she shouldn't be crying and wasting time.
"You feeling all right now Rosie?" Mcgonagall asked, usually her sharp gaze was always scary when she met her in the hallway. She didn't know that the headmistress had a soft side, right now, the sea blue eyes were looking at her with kindness and understanding. The colour of the eyes were much more complicated than just blue, inside them, you could see the struggles she overcame, the evils she defeated and the people she helped. It made Rosie's heart warm when it was cold for nearly two weeks.
"Yes professor, I'm all right." Rosie said, rubbing her eyes.
"Now that you have told me your story, I think it is only right that I tell you my story. Make yourself comfortable Rosie, I got a long story to tell."
Rosie nodded, and sat up straighter, getting ready for the story that was about to be told.
