It's 1:45 am. Where is that girl?!

I paced back and forth in the foyer of my home, thinking of things to say to her when she walked through the door. I had no idea what I wanted to say but I knew I had a few words for her. She was in a world of trouble.

"Pacing isn't going to get her here faster, Nick. Sit down, and take a second." I halted in my step, turning to look at my brother who apparently just had all the advice.

"My daughter is over 2 and half hours late for her curfew and she isn't answering any calls or texts, Kevin. How would you like me to act?" I was tired which made me cranky, and I was worried which made me crabby. Those two things weren't that good of a mix.

"I'm just saying you need to calm down. She's being a teenager, and she's at a friends house, she's safe. I get it she's late and she's not answering her phone but your incessant worrying isn't gonna do anything but burn a hole in the ground," he joked but I wasn't in a joking mood.

"He's right, babe. Worrying about her isn't the solution," Priyanka said as she stood from the couch, coming to calm me down but I just couldn't.

"Should you call Selena? Just to let her know what's going on?" Joe suggested. I sighed, fishing out my phone again, only this time to call my ex.

She picked up after the third ring.

"Nick? Hey what's wrong? Is it Bronwyn?"

"Hey Sel. Uh, yeah. She's late for curfew and she's not answering any texts and I just wanted to let you know."

"What? We're on the way."

"Selena, I will find her. I don't want you to worry, and if she comes back to your house I'd rather you be there."

"I can't just sit and wait Nick! She's my daughter. Why'd you even say she could go anywhere without talking to me first?"

"What? You're the one who gave her permission without talking to me first."

"Are you insane? Look we'll stay here but you call me the second she's back home, Nick. The second."

"I will Selena. And we will talk about this later."

She ended the call and I let out an irritated sigh.

I looked at my Home Screen, which displayed a picture of my beautiful wife and my daughter, and the sight almost diffused my anger. Almost. That was until I saw the time right on top of their picture and my blood boiled more.

2:15 am.

It's official. I'm gonna kill her.
