It was 10:37 in the morning there in Wyckoff, New Jersey. All of the adults were downstairs, and the three teen girls were all asleep in various rooms.
The Priyanka and Danielle were in the kitchen making breakfast together as they usually did when they got the chance, sort of as like a bonding thing for them as sisters in law. All they were missing was Sophie. The men were all sitting around the living area, drinking coffee and checking their social media pages while the breakfast was being created. They were made to stay out of Dani and Priya's way for now so that they could gossip and just catch up a little, which was fine for the three chaotic boy-men.
"...So, how's step-mommy life been?" Danielle asked as she grabbed the freshly made waffle from the waffle maker. Pri looked up from her task of cutting up some fruit, to really think about the question.
"It's um... honestly it's been good. I've known her since she was a little girl, and I feel like it's definitely improved over the months. I think sometimes I forget that she isn't mine, and I tend to overstep when it comes to her, and Selena's always quick to remind me that I am. I think it's going well though, I love her and even though she's a moody teenager I know she loves me too," The woman answered with a nod of her head.
Bronwyn didn't exactly like Priyanka when they first met. She was 6 when they first were introduced to each other, and little B was not a fan. As she grew older she became more fond of Pri, and the two got closer and closer as time went on. Sometimes a conflict of interest seemed to come into play about what Priya thought of an outfit choice versus her mom, just like you saw a few chapters ago. Priyanka instantly fell in love with her though. She loved her like she was her own and as far as she was concerned, Bronwyn in a sense was her daughter and she wouldn't let anyone tell her otherwise, and she even adopted the nickname Mama-Two, although Bronwyn hardly calls her that anymore she knows how the teen feels about her deep down.
Bronwyn loved Pri that much was a known fact. But sometimes the way that she'd speak to the woman would leave outsiders confused and uncomfortable. We all know Brynn is very verbally combative, and she doesn't have a problem saying what she wants to be in her mind even if it isn't really how she feels. She knows just how hard to hit you and where, to make it hurt.
"That's a step-up from the beginning at least. That whole 3 year period where she pretended to get you was just heartbreaking to witness." Priyanka nodded at that, remembering that awful experience at the start.
When Nick first brought Pri around, Bronwyn would misbehave, throw temper tantrums, and do just about anything to try and 'break' Pri. When nothing she did made her want to rub for the hills, and she was tired of getting popped by her father she finally decided to give the woman a chance, and that would be the start of a beautiful relationship.
