We drove the 23 minutes to a mall a little bit outside of Wyckoff, and arrived slower than the gps said due to grandma Alena going the actual speed limit and lower the whole time. I swear I wanted to reach over and press her foot to the gas.

We made it to the mall, and when I went to move to get out the lock was heard. I looked over, seeing my older cousin with her finger on the lock button as her other hand typed away on her cell.

3RD PERSON POV

"We need to check in before we even think about going inside that mall, and then we need to have a talk," The older girl said and Bronwyn rose her eyebrow at her. The sound of her message being sent sounded and she clicked her phone off before turning to her cousin.

"No games, Bronwyn," Bronwyn threw her head back and let out a groan as she again reached for the door handle but was again denied access to open it. Valentina was now leaned up over the center console watching us two. "I'm serious. Your dad will whip your ass for whatever you get into and then ours will whip mine! I know things are different for you because you live in LA and you do what you want but it can't be like that here, okay? Please promise me you will behave. Promise me!"

"Alright, damn it Alena! I promise, Jesus. I will bet my kidney on it if it'll get you off my back, but for the love of all things Christ, can you please stop acting like you're 8-years older than me instead of 8-months, or something? I heard enough from my father, I will be on my bestest behavior, just hop off." The car was silent as Alena vetted her younger cousin by making eye contact and trying to read her soul.

"Okay then. Let's go."

All three of them finally entered the threshold of the mall, stuffing their ID's back into it's respective places. For some odd reason they I'd ID upon entry, because they don't allow 13-year olds and under in here unsupervised or some shit like that. That's stupid to me, but whatever.

"Where should we go first?" Alena asked as she moved her crossbody purse behind her, looking around with her sister and cousin on either side of her.

"Foot locker?" Bronwyn suggested.

"Sure. I wanna build my shoe collection anyway." And with that, the girls shrugged, heading that way, their cousin now between them.

Bronwyn stared at a pair of white Air Forces in contemplation. She already owned 4 pairs, the only difference between them were that 3 were custom so they each had their own hand painted prints on them and the last pair which she currently was wearing were becoming more off white than the normal crisp white she likes. With her mind made up, she grabbed an associate to grab the matching shoe in the right size.

Meanwhile, Alena and Tina were both in the corner looking at a wall of 'shoes'. Bronwyn came up behind them as she awaited her own shoe.
"No. Hell no."
