I had to admit. The cheesecake was very good. And that boy was, surprisingly, really cute. So I decided to go again, to Jackson and Blofis, just because of the food of course. There was nothing more.
I went again, this time on the 17th of August. The place was being decored with fish made from origami and lots, and I mean LOTS of blue food. And there she was, the legendary Sally Jackson-Blofis. Well, at the time I hadn't met her yet. I just thought she was an employee or something, and asked what was going on.
-Well, dear, tomorrow is the birthday of my son, Percy, who works here. Because we need the money, we are going to work that day, but we are making him a party later. All of our products tomorrow will be on sale. I am the cook and manager, by the way. Don't worry about the manager being angry, because I ain't going to be angry at myself for gettin' my son a good birthday party. But enough about me. What would you like to eat, sweetie?- I was surprised. To be honest, I had a pretty rough childhood. It all started when my mom abandoned my dad when I was almost 3 months old. She said she didn't have the time for pesky relationships. Thanks, Athena. Then my dad fell in love with Helen, and she treated me so badly. It was all fixed now, though. I talked to them, they apologized, I apologized for escaping, and everything was good now. But when she talked to me, Oh My gods, I felt the love of a mother. Even if we just met.
And, before I could say my order, Persassy entered the room.
-Hello Annabeth! Didn't see you there.
- Hello Seaweed Brain. Thought I might come over for a quick drink and study, but I see you here.
-You got me Wise Girl. I have to say, you impress me with all your study. I could never spend time eating AND studying at the same time. And why do you call me Seaweed Brain?
-It's because you have seaweed on your brain. And I thought you studied.
- This is my sabbatical year. Thought my mom and Blofis would need more help. So, what do you want to eat?
- Consider this a gift, birthday boy. We are gonna eat. I'll pay for everything, don't worry.
And while we were talking, Sally looked at them from afar, smiling at his boy having new friends. And, yes, she shipped them. Now back to Annabeth's POV.
He ordered blue cookies. (He looked at me and smirked while he was talking), and I ordered a "Sally Special", which was a surprise. In the end, it was blue waffles with blueberries on top and blue syrup. We talked for a while, trying to know each other better. He was really funny and could talk about almost anything.
-So- he said while eating his cookies- I'm going to invite some friends to hang out. Wanna come?
I was, in fact, shocked. Didn't expect him to invite me. But, I had to. I mean, he was nice, and it would be rude if I said no, so I said
-Yes, I will hang out tomorrow.- I paid the bill and started leaving.
-Thanks for coming- He shouted, as I left the bakery.
