Camille knew that there was gonna be a change in her life, but she thought it would just be starting high school. She never expected to find out about Vampires and witches, and she especially didn't expect to be caught at a vampire party.

Being at Ethan's house without Camille there just didn't feel right to Benny. But neither did walking around school, eating lunch, walking home, doing homework, or going over spells, which is what he's been doing the entire week him and Camille have been ignoring each other and what happened. The only time they spoke was with the rest of the group around.
But Camille texted Ethan that she might come by if she has time. She said she was pretty busy planning out the dance, but Benny was certain she had already finished planning. She had been working on it for over a month now.
Benny stood in front of Ethan's living room window, the sidewalk to see if she'd be walking towards the house. She still hadn't fully fixed her vampire abilities, due to her refusal to talk to her dad. Well, as far as Benny knew since he hadn't talked to her in a week.
Standing at the window, waiting for her was a waist of time. She wasn't coming. "Of course." Benny scoffed and sat on the back of the couch. "The one time we get free pizza is when your mom is treating us!"
Ethan rolled his eyes at the boy. "The guy still has 2 minutes and 49 seconds."
"Zero chance in that rust bucket." Benny chuckled. "Which reminds me, limo or jetpack?"
"What?" Ethan turned to the boy in utter confusion.
"Our ride to the Fly off to the Moon dance...?" Benny reminded him. "You already know my pick, but do you think the chicks would dig a stretch?"
"What chicks?" Ethan questioned.
"Speaking of chicks... did, um.." Benny cleared his throat. "Did Cam ever text ya, say she's comin over?"
"Ugh!" Camille paced the room back and forth. "Just say the damn spell right." She whispered to herself. Yet she got it wrong again.
"Camille, it's really very easy." The most annoying boy Camille's ever met had said from the leather chair. He leaned back, simply glancing at the pages of the spell book here and there.
"Oh! that explains how I'm getting it so easily!" Camille sent him a sarcastic smile before it dropped and she just glared at him.
The boy, Oakley, sighed. "Alright." He stood up with a huff, dropping the book on the chair. He stepped over to Camille, grabbing her Gentry by the shoulders. "You just need to relax," His hands slowly fell down her arms, then to his side, "clearly something's clouding your thoughts."
"I'll tell you what's bothering me." Camille stepped towards him with an angry look. "All this stupid dance stuff. I mean, the lights, the backdrops, the food. And on top of that, I have to deal with you."
"Me?"
"Yeah, you. Your voice, your face, your stupid accent, your hair... you're annoying and I can't stand you-"
The boy ignored all of her words and gently pulled her into a kiss. After a moment, she pushed the boy away. "Sorry. You're cute when you're annoyed."
"Yeah." Camille simply agreed.
Walking with Rory down the hallways at school, there was always a chance of him going to Benny and Ethan to talk. But she took her chances to walk with the blonde vampire. Turns out, that day was not the day to take that risk.
Once they turned the corner, Ethan was right there, his back turned to them as Benny stood in front of him, complaining about being stood up by the pizza delivery guy.
"You guys hooked up for the Fly Off to the Moon dance yet?" Rory questioned as he appeared behind Ethan. Camille joined his side, looking to Ethan with a questioning look, not wanting to look at Benny.
"Know any honeys with a hot sister or a smokin second cousin?" Rory looked between the boys.
"This guy's going stag." Benny pointed to himself in pride.
"All the girls run off from you?" Camille questioned. Immediately regretting it. Why was she giving him an attitude about this?
"No, they all came after me. I said no."
"Oh you have a bunch of girls after you?" Camille questioned him with an eyebrow raise.
"Oh, Cam's got a guy after her." Rory spoke up, making the two break their staring contest.
"Well, she should probably go with him to the dance." Benny started, looking away with a shrug.
"Yeah." Camille nodded, nervously pulling up her brown jeans. "I mean, no one else important asked me."
"Yeah, my date's pretty important to me too." Benny sent the girl a harsh glare.
"Thought you said no to all those girls?" Camille interrogated, crossing her arms.
"I did. But I have a different girl to ask."
"What happened to going stag?"
"That was just cause I didn't want you to be the only one without a date. But now that I know..."
"Right." Camille nodded.
"Right." Benny repeated slowly, his eyes squinted.
"Well, have fun with that." Camille nodded to him and she began walking off.
"Yeah, you too." Benny muttered. He glared at her until she got halfway down the hall and finally looked away. As soon as she did, he leaned back on the wall and let out a sigh.
"Wow." Erica appeared from around the corner. "You showed her." She gave the boy a sarcastic nod.
"Showed her what?" Benny stood up straight, giving the vampire girl an attitude. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Erica honestly couldn't handle being around the three geeks any longer and just responded with a roll of her eyes. Then walked away.
"Well, I think you handled that beautifully." Ethan said with an awkward chuckle.
"So who you going with, Benny?" Rory asked, making both Ethan and Benny send him a harsh glare. "Loser." Was all Rory had to reply with, holding up an L as he walked past. Once he was past the two boys, he then began jogging to catch up to his best friend.
"Who are you going with, Benny?" Ethan turned to his best friend with a pointed look.
Benny just sighed and leaned back on the locker. Turning his head, his eyes landed on a familiar girl. "Bella." He got back on his feet.
"Della." Ethan corrected.
Camille didn't wanna go to the dance with Oakley. She didn't like anything about him. Sure, he was cute, yeah. But she hated his name. Reminded her of a tree. Didn't like how he seemed to just 'know' she was into him.
But then again, Camille probably shouldn't be so rude. She made the first move. Kissed him the second week of knowing him, while studying spells. So when they were making out in the middle of a study session, Camille pushed him away and asked him if he'd wanna go to the dance.
Though he kinda caught onto the fact she wanted to make someone jealous. He just didn't let her know that he knew, not that it was hard to hide. She was too worked up on the thought of who Benny would be going with.
