It was the day of the dance, meaning it was time for Camille to set up. She had her old cheer team and and a few other kids help her out with the tables, decorations, food. She of course, made the playlist for the dj. Rory even came to help her, but he got distracted and began eating the gummy worms. "No, Rory. You put them in the bowl, please?"

Rory had been in a space suit, which Camille questioned as soon as he showed up to her house, but he insisted that it was cool. And this this, Camille just shrugged her shoulders and agreed with him. It didn't look too bad. And maybe his date would find it cute that his outfit matched his pick up line he was gonna use.

"Okay." Camille stopped and looked around the gym. It looked good. The streamers, Green went along with her theme, Haunted Mansion. There was flashing lights, spider webs, fake mummies in coffins. "I love it, guys." She smiled at the room. "Now turn the gym lights off. Let's make sure the flashing lights look good." She instructed as they tuned the gym lights off. "Okay." She nodded. "Now just make sure you have everything plugged in. I heard what happened last year, it's not happening again."

"Dance is in ten minutes, guys! People are waiting outside already." Camille informed them as she looked down at her phone. "We got five minutes to make sure everything's good, cause if we don't let them in five minutes before the dance, they always throw a fit."

Oakley had texted her, letting her know that he was not able to come to the dance. According to him, Jessie was out and Oakley moved back with his mother, two hours away. "Whatever." She groaned.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Rory came up to her, stopping his action if blowing up a balloon.

"Nothing." She shook her head.

"What's wrong?" He asked again.

Camille looked up to him, her eyes watering. "Oakley's not able to come, and Benny's gonna have a date, and I'm gonna look so stupid." She complained. "And I kissed him last week, and now he's avoiding me, I know it."

"Are you sure you haven't been avoiding him?" Rory questioned her.

"You don't understand, I mean, I heard him talking about looking for a 'hot babe' to go to the dance with the day after we kissed." Camille explained as she began walking to the school entrance, Rory following. There was just a minute until she had to let the kids in.  "And I haven't talked to him since."

"Maybe he didn't wanna tell Ethan you guys kissed until he knew what you wanted to do." Rory said to her. "I say you should talk to him at the dance."

Camille sighed, but when someone unlocked the door and people began walking, she pulled on a big smile. "Oh, yay, Bella's here." She smiled forcefully as she watched the girl walk in.
