Chapter 16: Showtime

Seb's POV
I'm watching Carlos sing be our guest on stage. He was nervous before the show but he is doing amazing. The song ends and the curtain closes. He runs off stage and to me. I catch him in my arms.
"You were amazing baby!" I say.
"really?"
"The best!" I exclaim.
"Thank you love!"
-Time skip-
We take our bows and exit the stage. After meeting our families in the lobby, Seb and I head out to my car. I drive us to Slices where we are having a celebration party. I'm so excited, a night with my friends and my love. We eat pizza and then someone puts on music. I extend my hand to Carlos and he takes it with a smile. I wrap one arm around his waist and place his hand in mine. He places his free hand on my shoulder and we start to dance. Other couples join us. It's one of those moments I will never forget. The party ends and we head out to my car. When we're in the car, Carlos speaks.
"I need to tell you something," he says.
"Sure love."
"I know we're young but I think you're my soulmate," he says.
"I think so too," I say.
The rest of the school year passes quickly and suddenly it's the night before the last day of school. I have dinner with my family then head up to my room to call Carlos. He answers at once.
"Hey baby," he says.
"Hi love," I say.
"Can you believe it's our last day of sophomore year tomorrow?"
"It's crazy," I say.
"I'm so excited to spend the summer together and go to camp with our friends," he says.
"Um, yeah, about that. I'm sorry but I have to help on the farm because my dad got called into work, to travel last minute," I say.
"oh," Carlos says.
"I'm so sorry," I say.
"It's okay, it's only two weeks," he says.
"I'll see you tomorrow.  I'm really tired," I say.
The next day
I'm cleaning out my locker when a pair of arms wrap around my waist.
"Happy last day love," Carlos says, kissing my cheek.
"When do you leave for camp?" I ask.
"Saturday," he says.
"So 2 days," I say.
"Are you okay?" he asks.
"I'm just really going to miss you," I say.
"I'll miss you too love."
