walk

jake pov-
as i arrive home, i grab my bags and walk inside. johnnie is standing at the front door.
"hey i can carry your stuff" he offers.
"only this bag" i handed him a bag that i was about to drop. we carry my bags up to my room. the house is cleaner than when i left. i'm guessing johnnie cleaned it while i was gone.

after we put my bags on my floor, i immediately give johnnie a hug.
"missed you" johnnie whispers. "me too."
"i'm tired" he yawns. "johnnie, it's the middle of the day"
"i know, i still wanna sleeppp" "okay go sleep then."
"you're not gonna come with me?"
"okay fine."

we lay down on my bed. "johnnie, why do you wear skinny jeans to bed?" i laughed. "because ummmm i don't know. i like wearing them to bed i guess" "yeah okay buddy" i say sarcastically.
as i'm laying on my back trying to fall asleep (which is hard because it's the middle of the day) johnnie turns on his side and puts his arm around me. i put my hand on his and we finally  fall asleep.

johnnie pov-
7:11pm
i wake up with jake next to me. i try to sit up without waking him up, but he ends up waking up. "hey johnnie." "hey"
"wanna go to 7-eleven?"
"sure."

me and jake had gone to 7 eleven many times before. we usually walk there, since it's so close, and that's what we did today. the sun was going down and the sky was a deep orange, mixed with pinks and purples.

when we got to 7-eleven, jake got a monster and gummy worms, and i got a red bull.

we usually would've went home after this, but jake suggested to going on a walk.

"where are we even walking to?" i asked
"umm i don't know. wanna go to the park?"
"sure."

there was a park that was right next to our house, but it wasn't exactly the park we cared about. in the back of the park there was a forest. and in the forest was a mostly empty field, except for one tree, and a bench that sat underneath it.

when we made it to the field, jake pulled out his pocket knife. he starts carving something in the bench without saying anything. "want me to play music?" i suggest, so we're not in silence.

"yeah sure, wait i'll get my playlist."
jake opens spotify to a playlist called 'me and johnnie' that he usually played whenever we would hangout.

i open my red bull and admired jake.
you make me feel life is worth living. i think as i stare at him.

jake finished carving into the bench. "yay i did it" i looked at what he did and saw the letters 'J+J' i laughed, and carved a heart next to it.
every little thing he did i found to be so cute.

jake drinks his monster and offers me gummy worms. i decline. "johnniee, their so good." i finally give in and eat the first thing i have in weeks. and i have to admit, he was right, they were so good.
"wanna take a picture?" he asks. "yeah sure." he grabs his phone and takes a picture of us with the carving in between us.

by now, the sun had gone down. but the moon was just as bright. me and jake lay in the field with his playlist playing in between us. he moves his hand and holds mine.

"i love you"
"i love you too." i replied.
