"I hate the heat. I can't wait until we get to cooler weather." Willow whined. "Agreed." I said.

"You could always travel north for a while. The weather is cooler up there." A female voice spoke. I stopped in my tracks.

"Celeste, what did we talk about with randomly appearing and scaring...." I looked around, seeing no sign of our ghostly friends anywhere.

"Uh Willow, you heard that, right?" I asked nervously. "Sorta. I must have been too far away to hear it properly though since it was quiet." She replied.

We looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. All we saw however was a grey screech owl. "The only thing I'm seeing is a screech owl sitting up in that tree above me." I observed.

"A screech owl? Wait, you're 100% sure it's a screech owl?" Willow asked. "Yeah, I think. Why?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"Screech owls are one of your dad's sacred animals. What if you can understand them because of it!" Willow's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"But then, how come you could you hear it too?" I wondered. "Well owls are creatures of darkness, and all the animals that fall under that category are sacred animals of Hecate's." She explained and I nodded in understanding.

"Ask the owl a question and see what happens." Willow urged.

I turned to the owl, looking it in the eyes, "Hello, I'm Amaya. What's your name? If you can even understand me." I asked sheepishly.

"My name is Ash, and yes, I can understand you. You two are children of Hecate I assume?" The owl peered down at us.

"I'm a child of Hecate, but Amaya isn't. She's a child of Hades." Willow informed the owl. Ash's eyes widened. "Are you sure?" She questioned.

"I'm pretty sure, I stopped a skeleton from attacking Willow and like, opened up the ground at it swallowed up the skeleton." I shrugged.

"Well, if you're right, do not tell anyone unless you are completely certain that they can be trusted. Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus made a pact after World War II, to no longer have children, thinking that their kids were too powerful. You do not want people to know you're a child of Hades. It may be extremely dangerous for you if people knew, especially Zeus." Ash explained.

"Oh wow, okay. Good to know." I said, shocked. "Hold on, I was born before WWII which is obvious since I'm 11 and the war started when I was 8." I stated, slightly confused.

"Amaya... What year do you think it is..." Willow asked hesitantly. "It's 1941. Why?" I asked. "Well... Did you ever wonder why the technology is so much better suddenly?" Willow hesitantly continued.

"Well, not really, my family moved here from Italy during the war so I just figured that you guys just had better technology than back in Venice." I shrugged.

"Okay, uhm, Amaya, I need to tell you something. You better sit down for this." Willow instructed. I did as told, sitting down on the ground, Willow following. Ash flew down from her perch and sat on Willow's shoulder.

"Uhm, I'm not really sure how to tell you this... Amaya, it's not 1941. It's 2004..." Willow said. My eyes grew wide, "Your kidding, right? This is some sort of joke right? That- That can't be true." My voice shook as I spoke.

"I'm so sorry A, but it's true." Willow put a comforting hand on my shoulder, "I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow, you were frozen in time for 63 years." Willow said, seeming as shocked and confused as me.

The small stones I had been fiddling with fell out of my hand, hitting the ground with a soft thump. My hands started shaking as I covered my mouth in shock.
