Tommy 3rd Person POV:
To some, Dream may be a fitting name to a Hunter that can catch whoever he wants. Skillful, brilliant, fast, and daring, he was the perfect mixture for the perfect name.
To Tommy, he was Nightmare.
Watching Dream hovering around his catch as they ate their lunch made it hard for him to swallow the pizza they were dining on. The food, which was normally bursting with flavor, felt like a stone in his stomach.
And by the looks of it, Purpled was hating every second of it just as much as he was.
It was odd that Dream, being as awesome as he was, didn't actually catch anybody yet. The man's been hunting for years and now he decided that he wants Purpled? What was up with that?
"Staring at them won't get Dream away from Purpled, you know," a voice said, breaking his train of thought. Stuffing the pizza into his mouth, he moved it around with his tongue to try and swallow it easier.
"I know," he said after he swallowed it, which was about two minutes later. "But why does Dream have to show up the day I finally want to hunt Purpled? Why didn't he hunt him before, when he literally could have, and saved me this torture?"
Ranboo shrugged and fixed his black sunglasses he wore. "I don't know. Maybe he likes the thrill of hunting others but . . . that wouldn't explain why he's hunting Purpled for good now. Unless he decided he wanted to settle down?"
"Then he can go take George," Tommy huffed.
"George is a Hunter." Tubbo pointed out.
"Who asked?" he griped, crossing his arms. "Also, how the freaking heck do you know that?"
"I pay attention to the news, Tommy. That's the difference between us." He took a sip of the apple juice he decided to get this time.
His frown deepened, and he forced his claws to stay retracted. "Sapnap?" he tried.
"Also a Hunter."
"BB Hate?"
Tubbo gave him a look. "BBH is a nice person! And, no, he's still a Hunter."
He growled. "Doesn't Nightmare have any Runner friends?"
"Hmm? Dream? Um, no, he doesn't. Remember those videos he posts? About him being chased by Hunters and they have to stop him from completing some challenge? If you ever paid close attention to them, you'd notice that they are all hunters with their strength, claws, and glowing eyes. None of them can run for very long before they lose him." His friend finished the drink. "Maybe you can ask him yourself why Dream wants Purpled all of a sudden?"
Both Ranboo and he started. "Tubbo why would you—"
"Heck yeah, and I'm going to tell him to buzz off!" Tommy interrupted, feeling a smile work its way onto his face. "He'll never know what hit him!"
Tubbo's wide blue eyes stared at Tommy and he shrank into himself. "Oh. I changed my mind."
Ranboo threw his arms into the air. "Well, that's good! Let's start another war, while you're at it."
"I'm sorry! You know Tommy longer than I do!"
"Only one more year than you!"
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a lime green sweater rise up. Tommy pushed the plate away from him, grinning when Purpled snapped at Dream and took out his phone. "Well, now's my chance."
"Tommy, wait!" Ranboo started after him, his leg catching on the chair, making him stumble. "This isn't a good idea."
"Was he ever one for good ideas?" Tubbo asked helpfully, trailing after them.
