Tommy 3rd Person POV:
If somebody asked him a question a week later it was going to be too soon. Yawning, Tommy slouched further on the chair, feeling bad that Purpled still had to stay inside the room with the interrogators.
He could hear their muffled voices through the walls, asking their questions. Purpled's responses were soft, almost barely audible. At this point in time, hours had passed, and during all that time a lot had happened.
Thinking back, Tommy grinned at the wrathful expression of Dream. He was an okay-looking guy, no real reason to hide behind his mask all the time. But with his identity out and his business crashed, it was going to be hard for him to ever find a friendly face towards him again. It wasn't like Tommy wanted all of this to be public, but news traveled fast, and there was no way to stop the media coverage of himself, Purpled, Dream, Techno, Wilbur, and Philza being led away by handcuffs through the Rosesquare building. As such, the police were forced to tell the public that they had all been let go, with the exception of Dream.
But they hadn't told them everything. Dream had been right about one thing; if this knowledge came out that Hunters and Runners could change back to humans, everybody would have freaked out. So, instead, they painted Dream as a stalker for no cause other than to torture Purpled multiple times.
Anger burnt in his chest at the thought of anyone laying hands on his new partner and his fists clenched involuntarily. So much idiocy had happened, especially to Purpled, and Tommy's new goal in life was to shield him from it as much as he could. He would be loving and caring, like he had tried to be before. Now that Purpled was already in his grasp, there was no more need to antagonize him.
Plus, Purpled wasn't all that upset with him anymore either. Tommy could thank his lucky stars that a mark bound them both together emotionally, because he would have been living with a, albeit pretty, stone hedge that didn't want to talk to him.
When the door opened he was on his feet before he could blink. "Hey!" he said with a bright, eager smile, reaching for Purpled to pull him into his chest.
The other only hummed, laying his head on Tommy's shoulder.
"Hungry? Tired?" he pressed, holding him tighter. The need to keep him safe and protect him buzzed in his mind.
Purpled snorted and pulled away. "Thanks. Still can handle myself, if you'd believe it."
It felt colder without Purpled near him, but Tommy shook it off and let go, glancing warily at the two other people that emerged from the room. "Are we done here?"
Sam breathed out, his shoulders relaxing down for the first time that entire day. "I guess so," he murmured, watching them with his bright green eyes. "You guys have your room set up yet, or no? Do you want an escort?"
"Thanks, no," Purpled said politely, giving the cop a strained smile. "We don't have anything else to worry about."
He eyed them for a couple of minutes more before he shrugged and nodded. "All right, then. Take care. We'll look into the Hypixel thing for you."
Purpled pinched his lips together, tensing for a moment. Tommy frowned at him. "Hypixel?" Come to think of it, he could recall a time when Dream had mentioned it. Something about that and Purpled being connected. He hadn't been right about that too, had he?
"Nothing you need to worry about, right?" his partner said, but he looked at Sam.
The officer nodded, fingering the utility belt of his. "Right. Anyway, it's simply some loose ends that need to be dealt with. As far as the records show, you were never there."
