I was in a deep sleep when the sound of Luca's voice woke me. "Lana. Wake up." I rolled over still drained from yesterday and buried myself deeper in bed. "Rise and shine sleeping beauty, we have unfinished business." Great, he's waking me up for sex. "Keep that thing away from me, and let me sleep." I groaned while Luca burst into laughter. "I'm not talking about sex, Lana. Just come on. I'll show you." Luca quickly pulled me out of bed.
"Luca, you do realize, you can't spoil someone into sleeping in every day, and then drag them out of bed in the morning when you want something," I complained while following him down the hall. Luca typically let me sleep in every morning, while he took care of breakfast for the girls, and getting Leah to school. He kept a tight grip on my hand while leading me to his office. "What's going on?" I was now wide awake wondering if they'd found something on Alexa.
Once we entered the office, a few people were standing around along with Thomas and Kate. I looked down at my pajamas and suddenly felt out of place. I tried smoothing my hair and wiping the sleep away from my eyes. "Good morning." I smiled at everyone, still completely lost. "Luca?" I turned to him giving him a questioning brow.
"I know that our wedding was ruined. I am fully prepared to make it up to you, we will do it again when the time is right. We'll do it however you want, but that doesn't mean we can't legally be married still." I looked down at his desk to see a marriage license waiting to be signed. "I know it's not ideal, but I figured at least we'll have the satisfaction of knowing Alexa didn't stop the process, just the show." Luca grinned at me nervously, as if I'd reject him. How could I? A wedding is only a show just like he said. This was all I ever wanted. To be legally married. To share my children's last name. I rushed over and wrapped my arms around him. "Thank you," I whispered in his ear, then quickly covered him in kisses. "I'd do anything for you, Lana." He grabbed my chin and pressed his lips to mine. I hurried over to sign the marriage license. While holding my hand, Luca signed it with me.
"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Denzel." A man congratulated us while handing us our marriage license. I knew I'd get my wedding one day, but for now, I'm going to just be thankful to finally be Mrs. Denzel.
"So, I was thinking, and even though we're on lockdown, why not celebrate with a trip? We can leave as a family, and get away for a few days." Luca was pitching the idea, not only to me but to Kate and Thomas as well.
"Well, I think sitting around here, Alexa knows exactly where to look for us, so a trip might be smart." Kate agreed.
"It might be smarter to go somewhere we have allies, people we can trust to help us," Thomas suggested. We all stood in silence, thinking. Everyone I trusted was already here. I'm not sure where else we could go. Suddenly a goofy smile stretched across Luca's face. "Lana, how long has it been since you last saw Niko?" My heart dropped. Niko was Luca's childhood best friend. Niko grew up on this coast along with us. The last time I saw him, was when I was sixteen. I couldn't help but smile brightly excited at the idea of getting to see him again. "You kept in touch?"
"Sweetheart there's a reason we were friends to begin with. I didn't exactly socialize outside of the family or our business." Luca chuckled, while I realized what he meant. I never realized...Niko works for Luca. "Go on, get packed." Luca kissed my head lightly. I was practically running back to our room to pack. I was excited and happy. I'm legally a married woman now, and we're going on our first family vacation. Leah is going to be so excited.
After I packed, and got the kids all ready, we all loaded into Luca's private jet and headed out. It was my first time being in Luca's private jet. Or any private jet for that matter. "Woah, this is so cool!" Leah ran over to test out all different seats. It was probrably the most luxurious thing Luca owned. I guess it was a necessity though, if he were entertaining business clinets and such. "If you think that's cool, check this out." Luca showed her a whole snack bar area. "Look, I got your favorites." Luca pointed to a bag of sour air heads. She was obsessed with those thigns. "Thank you Daddy!" She wrapped her arms around him.
"Oh, I always hated flying, have you ever been on a plane?" Kate asked while taking a seat.
"Never, this is the first time."
"Well, I hope you aren't like me, I get sick everytime." Kate popped some kind of pills in her mouth. I assumed it was for the sickness.
"I wanna watch a movie!" Riley pointed to the tv's.
"Elmo! Elmo!" Olivia demanded. They giggled while jumping on the seats.
"Okay, okay, but you have to sit down, okay?" I sat them both in their seats, and buckled them up. Luca happily turned on the movies for them. I watched as he tended to their needs, along with Leah's getting them all settled in for the flight. He looked like a completely different person than he did two years ago. He was less stone cold, and more soft and compassionate. He loved his children, and they brought out the best in him.
