Once we entered the house I was completely amazed and blown away at how beautiful the home was. The were glass windows everywhere, from floor to ceiling. You could see the mountains and greenry, and sunlight shine through, dancing along the floors and wall of the house. It felt peacful, and bright. By that time Leah was awake and looking around with her eyes wide. "Luca, Lana, this is my wife, Gia, and our daughter, Nalani." I shook Niko's wife's hand giving her a polite smile. She was stunning, she had flawless skin, beautiful blue eyes, and light brown hair. I felt a bit insecure just standing next to her. And his daughter, was a spitting imagine of them both. She had Niko's complexion, and unrulely dark brown, curly hair, and Gia's crystal blue eyes. She looked around the same age as Leah.
"It's nice to meet you both, these are my daughters, Riley, Olivia, and Leah." I introduced the girls.
"Hi." Leah mumbled shyly.
"Hey, you want to see my room? You can sleep in there with me if you want!" Nalani seemed excited to have a playmate. Leah's face lit up hapily. Nalani took Leah's hand and ran away pulling Leah behind her. Gia giggled at their excitment.
"Seems they like each other already." Gia had a beautiful accent, I assumed it was french.
"Thank goodness." I sighed relieved. Leah needed a playmate her age.
"I must say, you look amazing to have had twins." I felt silly recieving compliments from Gia.
"Thank you." I looked back towards the door, to see everyone starting to pile into Niko's home. "Hey Niko!" Carla walked over and casually hugged him. I forgot I was the only one who hadn't seen him in years.
"Alright, well we should let you all get settled in before tonights celebration. Gia, would you show Lana to their room?" Niko wrapped an arm around Gia, while placing a kiss on her cheek. "Absolutely, come this way."
I quickly followed behind her, as she led us through the home.
"So how did you and Niko meet?"
"We were actually dating before you ran away." This was a suprise. Niko and I talked so much, and he didn't mention it? "Leah and Nalani should be close in age, Nalani is eight."
"Oh, wow, Leah is seven, but her birthday is coming up." It wa snice to think if I had just stayed I might hae had a friend going through my teenage pregnancy with me.
"All through my pregnancy Niko and Luca searched for you. Oh, Antonio too, but now I understand why." Antonio was a bit of an awkward subject for me. I didn't know how to go about talking about him with people.
"I actually met Niko through Antonio. He had a friend, Enzo was his name. Enzo is a close family friend, and introduced us." We stopped while Gia opened the door to our room.
"Oh wow, this is beautiful." The room was decorated with a rustic cabin look. One side of the room had windows from the ceiling to the floor. It made me feel as though I were outside. I couldn't get enough of the views here.
"Thank you, perhaps when you return home we could stay in touch. Maybe we could come down for the holidays, plus it's nice to have someone Nalani's age around to play with her."
"Oh, I'd love that!" I felt myself growing excited from the idea of having a mom friend. I know it sounds cheesy, but it would be nice to have a friend to vent to, who understood what it was like being a mom. Olivia stirred awake in my arms. I looked down at her to see her smiling up at me.
"Hello there." Gia leaned over to greet Olivia. Olivia smiled brightly and buried her face in my chest. "She is so precious, she has your eyes."
"You think so? Leah looks so much like Luca, I find myself always comparing the girls to Luca."
Gia burst into laughter. "Have you seen my daughter? She is a mini Niko! It must be strong Italian genetics." She teased.
"Are you not Italian?" I asked as polietly as I could.
"No, I am polish." I felt stupid. I was guessing french. That's completely different.
"Are you from Poland?"
"I was born in Poland, but I was raised in Slovakia. What about you? Where are you from?"
"I've live in the same town my whole life. It's where I met Luca, and Niko."
"You've never been away from the coast?"
"Not really." I admitted a little embarrassed.
"Lana! We must take you to Europe! You will love it! We will plan a trip together with the family!" We both giggled at the idea of it. Truthfully, I wanted to.
"This looks like trouble for us." Luca teased. We both turned around to see Luca and Niko standing in the doorway watching us.
"You think it's too late to separate them?" Niko raised a brow at Luca. Gia quickly rushed to Niko's side, placing a kiss on his cheek. "Not a chance." She teased him. Loud squealed quickly filled the room as Leah and Nalani pushed past their fathers and ran into the room.
"Daddy! Can we watch Encanto outside! Leah hasn't seen it yet!" Nalani squealed at Niko.
"Are you kidding me? That's my favorite!" Niko matched the girls excitmend. They both burst into giggles, watching him sing a song from the movie.
"Do I even want to know?" Luca asked.
"Oh, you've got to see it Luca, you gotta see this Bruno guy." Niko whispered the name Bruno while looking at Nalani.
"We don't talk about Bru-no-no-no!" Nalani sang while laughing so hard her face turned red. In that moment I knew Kate was right, no matter what happens in life, I'll always have family and a home with Luca and our girls. I know I should keep my guard up but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy this moment, right?
