I slept throughout the whole flight.
It was 7am when we landed in Sydney. When we landed, it hit me that I'm on the other side of the world to my past. The weather was so much different here. I felt so ill. I managed to make it out to our taxi before I passed out on my dad's shoulder.
When I woke up, the first thing I saw was a big house, well, bigger than our old house.
Boxes of furniture filled the rooms along with new furniture.
Everything was so much different towards London.
I went upstairs to find my room. It had a bathroom, fitted wardrobes, a balcony and a deep window sill. I smiled.
I felt safer knowing I was away from Jason.
It was 9am when I remembered to text Amelia telling her we've landed safely this time.
At noon, my dad and I got hungry. We had no idea where any shops were, so we decided to roam the city. We didn't live too far away, which wasn't so bad. We got some food that'll feed us for the day and maybe order a take away for dinner.
We took a look in a few stores since they'd be our local stores so we could settle in and know our way around.
We sat in a small café and sat down to discuss our plans for the next few days. I began to fall into a daydream when my dad tapped me asking what drink I'd like. I got a small fright and jumped a bit.
"I would like a vanilla hot chocolate please" I told the waiter.
He was tall and blonde. He was extremely shy. After confirming our order, he scooted back into the kitchen as quickly as he could.
While we waited for our drinks, I checked my phone to see if Amelia had texted me back. No answer.
"Dad, what's the time difference between here and England?" I asked him. "About 9 hours I think, why?" He replied. "Oh I just sent Amelia a text and I got no reply, she's probably asleep."
The waiter was soon back with our drinks. He tried giving us our drinks as quickly as possible without spilling it on us.
As we usually would, when the waiter came back with our bill, we would leave a small tip behind. The shy boy came back out with our bill. Just before he was about to leave, I called him back and handed him his tip. "Thanks for the lovely service, we'll surely be back" I told him with a smile. He blushed a small bit before thanking us and happily slipping his tip into his pocket.
My dad and I set off again. We bought food to make snacks later on after we unpacked a bit of our stuff.
We sat in our living room in silence. This day a week ago, I was in the bath tub crying my eyes out. And now, I'm sat in the middle of my new home on the other side of the world.
My dad and I decided to order a pizza. We sat down with our pizza and tried to work the TV. After 30 minutes of confusion, we managed to get a movie on.
About 2am, I decided to go to bed. At first, I found it hard to sleep. It wasn't my own bed. It wasn't the same as home. I found it hard to settle into a sleep. I eventually drifted off.
After what felt like ten minutes of sleep, I was woken up by my father.
"A package has arrived from your school!" He called from downstairs.
I didn't look around the entire house yesterday so I was pretty much lost looking for my dad. I found him in the back room, where we had an amazing view of the city.
I opened the package while he read the letter. In the package was a uniform. It wasn't as nice as my one back in Engkand, but I guess I would adjust to it. "Looks like you begin sooner than expected.. You begin next Wednesday, July first..."
The first thought that came to my mind was "fuck my life".
