This part is just for info regarding this story
This is something i just randomly though about in school so i decided to put it here
A few years before the story starts humans have found an alien race called protogen. This happened when humans have almost finished creating a single goverment. Protogens and humans managed to become friendly with one another.
Many humans decided to move to the protogen planets and vice versa. After some time protogens proposed to unify both goverments into one. Humans quickly agreed due to protogen having more advanced technology which would be useful to humans.
Protogens were also generaly stronger, bigger, smarter and quicker than humans they also liked having pets and they saw humans really cute (oh boi). So the protogen part of the goverment preasured the human part into allowing protogens to take humans as pets.
It looked like this if a protogen caught a human it could legally take it as a pet but if the human didnt want to be a pet the protogen would most commonly release them after a week because protogens were kind hearted so it was sort of a unwritten rule.
