Adora finds out she's pregnant...
Takes place in S2 EP2.~
"You've been sick now for over six weeks, Adora. Don't you think it's time to see somebody?"
"Ugh, like who?"
"Oh, I dunno... a healer?"
"Fuck that,"~
Adora retched into the toilet again, wincing as her throat tugged painfully. She dropped her head onto the toilet seat, groaning softly. "S'probably just some She-Ra bug," She mumbled. "Don't people usually die if they're sick this long?" She twisted her head, facing her friend. Glimmer shrugged. "I dunno. I don't get sick..." She rubbed the back of her neck. "Helpful," Adora groaned. Glimmer shrugged. "The only thing I can think that lasts this long is morning sickness," She picked at her nails. "So, unless you've had sex, it's not that,"
Adora's shoulders tensed. Glimmer frowned curiously. "Have you had sex?" She asked. Adora looked up through her hair poof. "Um... remind me what that is?" She whispered. Glimmer pursed her lips. "Um... scientifically... it's where the male enters the female..." Adora sighed in relief. "Then no, I've not had sex," Glimmer hummed dubiously, tutting as she pulled some of Adora's messy ponytail out of the way. "Sex can also be men and men, or women and women," Adora tensed again. "It's anything that involves somebody's area touching another person's area,"
Glimmer noticed.
"Adora? Something you wanna tell me?" She asked with a playful lilt in her voice.
Adora's mind was thrown back to a few weeks ago, with her mysterious drunken encounter with a redheaded shopkeeper called Rey. By god, it was the best sex of her life!.. granted it'd been Adora's only time, but nevertheless. She'd yearned for Rey's touch (and tongue) many times since then. To no such luck, unfortunately.
Adora's stomach rolled as she vomited into the toilet some more. Glimmer rubbed her shoulders, keeping her hair firmly out of the way. Sweaty, and long over the sickness, Adora flushed the chain with a sigh. "Maybe..." she answered Glimmer's question. "Oh my god! You lost your virginity? To who!?" Adora flushed. "Um... a-"
"When as well? When did you lose it?!" Glimmer practically bounced on her knees. Adora rubbed the back of her neck. "Um... at that party? You know, the one your mom held?" She blinked harshly against the soft pounding behind her eyes. Glimmer gasped loudly. "Shut up! You dog!" She slapped Adora's knee. The blonde stared, confused. "Ugh, with who? Spill,"
Flashes of soft pink lips and long red hair infiltrated her mind.
Adora shook her head. "Um... Rey," She answered, all resolve flying out of the window. Glimmer frowned. "Who's Rey?" Adora pushed herself up. "Just a girl I met,"She covered her ears when Glimmer squealed. Glimmer was suddenly flying around the bathroom, flinging open cupboard doors, slamming them just as quickly. Adora eased herself onto the closed toilet seat. She braced her throbbing head in her hands. "Ugh, what're you even looking for? You're making me dizzy," She whined. Glimmer hummed, ignoring her. She continued bustling about, eventually shouting in delight. Adora squinted as the purple-haired Princess teleported before herself, dropping a box into her lap. The blonde picked it up, turning it over in her hands.
"A pregnancy test? Why do I need this?" She asked, finally looking up. Glimmer shrugged. "I mean, it's not unheard of for lesbian couples to fall pregnant by accident," Adora snorted. "There's a key factor you're missing there," She turned the box over in her grasp again. "I'm not that stupid to know you need male DNA for a baby to be made," She snorted. "And the whole point of lesbianism is to not see anything that dangles from your body,"
She shuddered. Glimmer grimaced. "That's a pretty gross description..." She sighed. "Was she a spellcaster?" Adora shrugged. "No idea. She was a shopkeeper," Glimmer rolled her eyes. "Idiot,"
Adora whined in offence.
"Some spellcasters have certain qualities that allow them to procreate without the need for male genitalia," Adora hummed. "Plus, we don't know anything about She-Ra yet... not what's inside at least," Adora nodded in consideration. "In theory..." Glimmer trailed off. Adora shook her head. "What do I do if I am? Pregnant, that is? Are there ways to get rid of it?" She asked. Glimmer frowned. "Um... I'm sure there are... but why would you wanna do that?" Adora gestured to the sword by the bed. "I can't exactly charge into battle with a watermelon on my body, can I?"
Glimmer shrugged. "You'd have to step away until you had the baby then,"
"Absolutely not," Adora shook her head vehemently. "Look, take the test. Find out first. If you are, then we'll go from there,"
"You sure those aren't bugged? We could just be colourblind?" Adora suggested. "Or- or brain damaged from the concussions? Yeah, must be that," She began to pace. Glimmer sighed angrily. "Adora, the test hasn't even finished processing yet," She tried to keep her tone even. Adora continued to pace, running her hands through her hair. "How much longer?" She asked. Glimmer glanced at the clock. "Thirty seconds,"
Adora paced the bathroom twenty-four times in those thirty seconds.
Glimmer nearly broke her legs, just to keep her still."You ready?" She finally asked, reaching for the test. Adora reached out but paused and brought her hand back to her chest. "I can't - I can't look at it. You tell me, please," Glimmer raised her eyebrows as she turned the test over. "It's negative," She said. Adora stopped moving, freezing dead in her tracks. "What?" She asked quietly. Glimmer shrugged. "It's negative," She said.
Adora sighed, flapping her hands in the air. "Oh. Well, there you go. Phew. That's great. That is really, really great news," She rambled. "You know? Because of the whole not-being-ready and war aspects - all that stuff. This is all just the way it's supposed to be,"
Glimmer watched in curiously. "For somebody who didn't want a baby, you seem awfully upset," She passed a tissue over to the teary-eyed blonde. "I don't," Adora mumbled. "Thanks. God, this is so stupid. How can I be upset over something I never wanted?" She sighed, dropping the tissue into the bin. "It's really negative?" She whispered.
Glimmer glanced at the test, picking it up in her grasp. "No, it's positive,"
Adora froze. "What?" Glimmer passed the test over. "It's not negative; it's positive," Adora snatched the test. Glimmer was shocked at her shaky hands. She'd never seen the blonde so rattled before. "These-these lines? They mean yes to baby?" She asked. Glimmer nodded. "Yep. A plus means yes to baby,"
She wanted to be happy, to be joyous, but being there for her friend came first. And if Adora wasn't happy with a baby, then neither would she be. Adora just glared at the test with watery eyes. "Are you sure?" She whispered.
Glimmer stood up, coming up close. "Well, yeah - I lied before," She admitted. Adora whipped up her head to glare. "Don't look at me like that! Now you know how you really feel about it," She proclaimed proudly. Adora rubbed her nose, snorting weakly. "Oh, that's a risky little game... what if I didn't like it? What if I wanted to get rid of it?" She asked. Glimmer shrugged. "That would've been a problem for future Adora and Glimmer,"
Adora choked on a sob; though not because of the plus symbol on the little test in her hands. She allowed the tears to fall from her eyes, soaking her cheeks and into the collar of her sleep shirt. Glimmer looked into her eyes. "Are you really going to do this? Are you gonna have a baby?" She asked. Adora looked up briefly, her eyes flickering back to the test. A small grin wormed onto her face. "Yeah. I'm going to have a baby," She whispered.
Glimmer leapt into the air. "My best friend's gonna have a baby!"
