We were in the middle of a battle against a group of Netherrealm monsters. The monsters took down many of our people, but Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao were thankfully here to assist. Me and Cassie got separated from Cassie's family. We kept fighting until...
"Shit! Get the fuck off me!" Cassie yelled. We were separated from each other. I started kicking through the monsters and got to Cassie to see multiple attacking her. I shot them all down. Behind me was one, but my gun was empty. Cassie shot it. She shot a few around us before her gun stopped shooting. "Damnit!!" She yelled. We started to back up. We couldn't call for help from anyone and we were being backed up to a wall. Fortunately, behind us, there was an Outworld portal. "Thats our escape!" Cassie said.
"They won't know where we are!" I said.
"It's either this way and have a better chance of surviving, or that way and die." Cassie said. I looked at the creatures. "Fuck it." I surrendered. Cassie ran through. I followed her.

We were in Outworld. Just as a creature was about to jump us, the portal closed and split its body in half. "Damn it. Way too close."
I said.
"Yeah, no shit. If you ran through as soon as we saw it, we probably wouldn't have had to be that lucky." Cassie said.
"I know." I hugged Cassie. "But now, Sonya and Johnny, Jacqui and Takeda, no one has a way to contact us."
"We know theres not gonna be wifi in Outworld. There's gotta be another way." Cassie said.

Flashback... three days ago...
"Sticking around Kabal?" I asked the police officer.
"Stryker died a Revenant, and I don't even know where to look for my wife and child if they're alive. Yeah, I'm sticking around." Kabal said.
"Y/n. May I stop you?" I heard from behind me. When we looked, i saw Smoke. "Smoke? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Lord Raiden brought me and Kuai Liang here. We got stuck in Outworld." He said. "I just wanted to give you this." He handed me what looked like a chip. "What is this?"
"I stole this off of a Cyber Lin Kuei. I think it's what powers them since he might have died after I took it off of him. The point is it powers the cyborgs, so I want you to have it. In case if you ever need it to power a device." Smoke said.
"Thanks, Tomas." I said as I took the chip.

Present day
"I might have a way to power a phone!" I say. I pull out the chip Smoke gave me. "What is that?" Cassie asked.
"It's a Cyber Lin Kuei chip. It should power the phone." I said.
"Wait, let me use it. I can only imagine all the texts." Cassie said. I gave it to her. She hooked it up to her phone and over 50 texts from our people covered her lock screen. "Texts from Jacqui, Takeda, Mom, Dad, Jax, Kenshi." Cassie said. "When did Grandmaster Hasashi get a phone?"
"Text them. Let them know we're okay." I told her.
"Just did. I told them we're in Outworld." Cassie said.
"Great. Now we just gotta wait, I guess." I said. We heard someone behind us. We turned and saw someone crouched over. We couldn't tell if it was an Edenian or a Tarkatan. "Hello?" I asked. It was a Tarkatan. She stepped away.
"Woah! Hey! Its okay. We're not gonna hurt you, ma'am. We're allies now, remember?" Cassie said. The Tarkatan settled down. "Okay, good. We got stuck here from Netherrealm. Can you help us? Give us a place until we can return to Earthrealm?" Cassie asked. The Tarkatan woman nodded and signaled for us to follow her.
