Bloody Eyes

Cassie's POV...
Me and Y/n were asleep. It was the middle of the night. I thought I heard footsteps. My eyes crept open and I saw the silhouette of someone with two glowing eyes across the room. I reached my arm over to Y/n, trying to wake him up. He grabs my hand. I pull his arm, making his body roll towards me. His eyes opened and he sees the silhouette across the room. He puts one of his arms around me. "He's approaching us." I whisper to Y/n.
"I'm calling Johnny." He says. That means mom and dad will be here soon. Then Y/n goes for the lamplight and turns it on. We see it's a grey skinned person. One of those Revenants with red and white paint on his face. I quickly kick the covers off, disregarding the fact Y/n wasn't wearing a shirt and I was wearing one of his shirts without pants on. Y/n grabbed a baseball on his desk and threw it at the Revenant's face. He formed a green axe and cut the ball in half. I opened my drawer and grabbed a gun. The Revenant attacked me, making me drop my gun. Y/n tackled him to the ground. I heard a knock on the door. "Cassie! Y/n! Open up!" Mom yelled. I jumped over the bed and unlocked the door. My parents ran in as Y/n held the Revenant up. "Someone, knock this fucker out!" He yelled. Dad ran over and gave a him a nutshot, and Mom shot a blast of energy at him. The Revenant went down. "Damn it. Thanks." Y/n said.
"Who was that?" I asked.
"Nightwolf." They said.
"He was part of Earthrealm's battle against Shao Kahn. He was killed whilst killing Sindel." Mom said.
"God damn. And Raiden can't fix them now." I said. Hanzo killing Quan Chi was a ruinous idea. Nightwolf, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jade, and Kitana could not be revived without him. I hope that we can find a way to restore them without Quan Chi someday.

Y/n's POV...
The sun started to rise. My alarm hasn't gone off yet. My arms were wrapped around Cassie's body while she was still asleep. At least I thought she was. Then I felt her body shift and her hands squeeze mine. "How long have you been awake?" I asked.
"I woke up an hour after Mom and Dad hauled Nightwolf out of here." She told me. "Couldn't sleep." They hauled him out around 2 AM. "Cassie, why couldn't you go back to sleep?" I asked. She rolled over to face me. "I was scared. I kept thinking what would have happened if I didn't wake up." Cassie said.
"Cassie..."
"Y/n. Just let me think." She said. I rolled my eyes. "If you didn't wake up, I would have. I hate the sound of creaking floors." I said. She didn't even smile. "Cass, my point is that didn't happen. And i will not allow it to happen. Not to you. Not to Sonya. Not to Johnny. Not to Jacqui, Jax, Takeda, or Kenshi." I said. Then she cracked a smile. "That helped?"
"Yes, but I'm smiling because that rhymed." She said. I rethought what I said and realized it did. "The day's still new. Why not try to get some sleep." I requested. Our eyes met and she nodded. We both started to drift off again.
