004. FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES

Chapter four

"Friends in high places."

The next morning, Sarah had invited Mia to come with her and Topper to help clean up the beach with the rest of their kook friends, so the next morning, they stopped at Sarahs as Mia waited for her to change, they headed back to her house, and as Sarah talked with Topper, Mia ran upstairs to get changed, but when she came down, Topper had decided that the three of them were gonna take over their father's new boat which happened to be a Malibu 24 MXZ, which was 200k and if anything happened to it their father would kill Topper.

As they were on the boat, Sarah was standing up with her arm around Topper while Mia was lounging with her sunglasses on, not noticing the boat that was about to cross paths with them, but Sarah did as she turned away from Topper, and grabbed the sun hat off of Mia's head catching her attention, as Mia sat up "what?" she asked and when she did, she noticed the Pogues drive past them, as her and JJ made eye contact, Sarah then put the sunhat back on Mia's head as she turned walking back toward's Topper, as Mia laid back down.

The three of them soon arrived on the beach, as they had garbage bags in their hands "like I was telling your sister last night, you should've heard the way John B talked to me. That kid's got a mouth on him." Sarah shared with her brother "well, he showed his true colors, Sarah." Topper told her "he was so rude!" Sarah voiced "I know! It's what I've been trying to tell both you. I mean, he's lucky your dad didn't press charges." Topper shared "I know! After stealing scuba from us?" Sarah asked, but as she did, Mia rolled her eyes, knowing the girl was telling it to her way differently last night that she knew the entire situation was her brother's fault.

"It's just kind of ridiculous for me. After everything my dad has done for him." Sarah shared "yeah." Topper told her "just as generous. You'd think he'd be more grateful." Sarah shared "we know!" Mia voiced, seeing as Sarah was going of on a tangent "and then he yells at me like it's my fault!" Sarah voiced, as Topper chuckled "that's..it's..he's a pogue, at the end of the day. I mean, you can say we're all just people, or..or whatever, but it's a totally different mindset on the cut." Topper told her, and as he did, Mia leaned over to Sarah "he's such a liar." she told her and as she did, Sarah laughed.

While Kelce who also happened to be on the beach, spotted the three of them "yo. You look thirsty!" he voiced, holding up a jug, he walked over to them "ooh, what do we..what do we have here?" Topper asked, taking it and opening it, he smelled it "oh, my god!" he voiced, as Kelce laughed, Topper then drank it "yeah! That's how we do it, baby! Since Mia's fresh fish she gotta try it next!" Kelce voiced, as Mia laughed "wow, is this what you all were doing while tormenting me?" she asked, as she took the jug and drank from it, she quickly nodded "that? That's good! Sarah try it seriously." she told her, turning and handing it to her, as Sarah then drank it "she's right. What did you do to this?" she asked.

"He's not playing around." Topper told them, as Sarah went in for a second sip, her younger sister Weezie took it from her "Weezie, no!" Mia voiced, going and grabbing it from her as Weezie got like two gulps in "since when did you start drinking?" Sarah asked her sister "since today!" Weezie voiced "thank you, Mia. And great going Kelce." Sarah told him, as Mia took one last swig of the drink and then handed it back to Kelce, just as the man running the clean walked up to them "you guys got it under control?" he asked "yes, sir!" Kelce voiced, going back to his spot.

"It's looking good, sir!" Topper voiced "just clearing the stretch out!" Kelce voiced, as Sarah and Mia looked to the man "just hydrating!" Sarah voiced "we're almost finished!" Mia voiced "keep it up." the man told them, as he turned walking off, Mia turned to them all laughing "if he came over here?" she asked, making Topper, Sarah and Kelce laugh with her.

Everyone then who were working on cleaning up the beach were then standing in a circle with a different man then before in the middle of them all "just a moment, friends, to acknowledge our blessings." he told them, as they all held hands "to the big kahuna.." the man was saying, as Mia leaned toward's Sarah "if I wanted to stand in a share circle I would've stayed where I was." she shared, making Sarah laugh as Topper turned and shushed them "thank you for the opportunity for us to come out here and restore masonborough to it's virgin glory." the man shared, and when he did, Mia, Sarah and Topper started laughing, where others clapped as the man who had talked to them earlier, glared at the three.

They all then split up, as Topper, Sarah and Mia stood on their own, Topper pointed to the guy was still glaring at them "he doesn't like us that guy." Topper shared "now you see how I felt!" Mia voiced, and when she did Topper looked at her scared, knowing he didn't mean it like that "no, no, Mia I.." he was stuttering, trying to back out of it, as Mia started laughing, Sarah joined her, as the two of them headed down the beach, Topper turned and followed after them.

When she got home with Topper, Mia decided to go out for a bike ride not exactly enjoying the feeling the alcohol was making her feel now that she was not doing anything and just relaxing, as she was biking around, she was looking at the tree's passing by, not noticing the motorcycle coming her way, where as it zoomed past her, it spooked her, making her scream as she fell off her bike and tumbled down the hill nearby, she thankfully soon stopped, as she groaned in pain "ow." she voiced, as she heard quick footsteps coming down the hill "Mia. Mia, I'm so sorry." Rafe told her, making Mia chuckle "it's..it's fine. Motorcycles and cars own the road, not bicycles." she told him, pushing herself up.

And as she did, Rafe saw the blood beneath her blonde hair "your bleeding." he told her, furrowing his brows, making Mia chuckle "no, no. I'm..I'm fine. It's probably just a scratch." she told him, getting up, Rafe then remembered how his dad told him to make himself useful somewhere and somehow, and right now Mia Thornton getting hurt was his somehow, he just needed to work on the somewhere part after, as he ran his hand through his hair "are you..are you busy?" he asked her, causing Mia to look up at him with furrowed brows "okay, I may have hit my head harder then I thought cause it almost seems like your asking to hangout with me." she told him, chuckling a bit, while Rafe nodded "yeah, yeah I am. I am asking you, Mia Thornton, if you wanna come hangout with me?" he asked her, "sure." Mia told him, smirking at him.
