Darkness..
That's the only thing Elliot could see.
Then again, was it seeing if her eyes were closed? She's sure they where. Unless she was blind, she wasn't. At least she didn't think she was. She couldn't really remember. Why not?
Muffled male voices filled the silence around her.
She wasn't alone.Where was she?
Where the lights off?
What lights?Elliot couldn't breath. Her body was numb.
No..
Not numb. Numb meant she could feel it.
She couldn't feel it. Only the weight against her chest, like someone was sitting on it. She guessed it was her chest. Was she even breathing? It didn't feel like it.How much time had passed?
A minute?
An hour?
A day?
Days?Days was probably right. It would make the most sense. Why the voices would stop for what felt like hours on end, the creaking of floors being walked on and doors being opened and then shut. It made the most sense.
There was another girl.
She spoke a lot.
Not really spoke though. More mumbling. "Thomas," it's the word she heard being mumbled the most. Maybe not word. A name? It had to be.**** **** ****
2 days.
That's how long she was there. At least consciously. She had counted every second. Not much else to do. She'd probably messed it up, but it was close enough.
The voices returned. They weren't as muffled this time.
Something moved near her foot.
Her foot?
Since when has she been able to feel her foot? She focused on the feeling. Straining for something more. The nerves in her foot felt like they were moving upward. Soon she could feel her leg, and then her stomach. Like a generator powering up, slowly giving energy to the rest of her body.
Her hand twitched, then her arm. And suddenly she could feel every bit of her body again, though prickly.
As if the weight had been lifted off her chest, she gasped.Air filled her lungs, so quickly it was almost painful. Her eyes shot open, and light filled them for the first time in what seemed like forever. The bright canvas before her was blinding, and she quickly squeezed her eyes closed.
Having learned her lesson, she slowly opened them this time. Adjusting to the light as her vision finally cleared.Three boys stood to the left of the cot she lied on. Staring wide-eyed at her, like she was some sort of corpse awoken.
She didn't recognize any of them, and that sent a wave of discomfort through her.
The dirty-blonde haired male on the far left opened his mouth to speak, but Elliot got there first.
"Who are you, and where the hell am I?"
