SACRIFICE

Essence woke up in a world she's never seen before. Her heart was racing, not knowing where she was, and she prayed that she was dreaming.

The sky above her was red, and the buildings in the distance looked black. She got up, looking around for the portal she was pulled into.

"Essence!"

She looked towards the familiar voice and saw a huge scrap of metal flying towards her. Luckily, she ducked in time.

"Dark Lotus, leave her alone!"

"Nice for you to join us."

The deep, creepy voice came from the left of her. An eight foot tall pale man stood with six inch long claws. She was shocked to see his true form.

"Run!"

The same familiar voice called out, tackling the pale man. Essence ran and hid behind a boulder in the distance.

"Where the hell am I?"

Her hands shook while she tried to calm herself down. Fighting was taking place, and things were being thrown along with explosions going off in different areas.

Essence covered her ears from the loud bangs. She moved to the side of the boulder to see what was going on.

A big humanoid creature with horns threw fists with the tall man. He hit his jaw, sending the sound of cracking in the air. The more Essence stared, the more she realized who the monster was.

"Bellamy..."

Her eyes were wide, watching the two beasts cause injuries to each other. Left and rights were thrown and connected. Bellamy threw the pale man into the brick wall, causing it to crumble on impact.

While the pale man lay still, other creatures came from the darkness ready to attack.

Bellamy was taking them out one by one by himself until Amin joined him. They were both skilled with each blow they threw while breaking the arms and necks of their opponents.

Once the last creature fell, both their focus went on Essence. She hurried towards them and hugged Bellamy, then held Amin's hand. His injuries looked serious, causing worry to cover her face.

"Let's get out of here now! You need medical help."

"I'll be fine...let's go."

All three watched the portal slowly form in front of them. Amin made Essence go ahead of him so he could help his brother.

She turned around and saw the pale man standing behind Bellamy. Before she could scream, a metal pole went through his chest.

"NOOOOO!!!!" Essence screamed.

Amin rushed the pale man, putting his neck into a chokehold. He squeezed until the man fought for air, and with a sharp hard twist, his head was separated from his body.

Black blood splattered all over him while Bellamy fell to his knees. More creatures began to emerge from the darkness. Essence and Amin tried to get Bellamy to stand.

"Wait..."

A large ball of fire and red electricity formed in his palm.

"Take Essence and go."

"Bellamy, no!" She shouted.

"Amin, take Essence now. Keep her and little man safe."

Tears fell down Amin's eyes. He didn't want to leave. More dark creatures were closing in. Essence kissed Bellamy's lips, then wrapped her arms around his neck, squeezing tight.
