sage sighs to herself as she spotted a piece of paper on the floor, and shook her head knowing exactly what piece of paper it was. she grabbed her phone and bent down to pick up the paper, walking into her bathroom and sitting her self on the counter.

she mindlessly types the number in her messages and shoots a simple 'hey' as a starter message. in all honesty she didn't plan on talking to him for real, maybe he won't even text her ba-

texting went to being on the phone for 30 minutes. "so what are your interests?" maree asks her through the screen. sage smiled, "um really anything that catches my eye, i'm never picky with things." she tells him in all honesty.

"that's nice, it's how i am too, very open to things." maree says, propping his phone up on his desk, he had a pair of gaming headphones on.

maree was cute, plump lips, white teeth, nice brown skin, and his jawline was sharp.

sage jumped out of her thoughts once she heard a knock on her door. she stands up from her bed and brings her phone with her, she pulls her door open and tilts her head. "where have you been?" sage asks her sister, "with my man," avery replied.

"chris is on his way over here he said give him a second." avery says, making sages eyes go wide.

avery looked confused and then gasped, "grocery store guy?" she mouthed to her sister.

sage nodded, standing in her doorway. "i'm gonna call you later maree, that's okay?" she asks once chris walks out of his apartment.

"yea that's fine talk later." maree says and sage hangs up the phone. chris looked at her, "who was that?" he asks, raising his eyebrow slightly.

"a friend."

chris hummed, walking into her apartment and sage shut the door. "let's watch a movie." he says, sitting on her couch.

"that's where i leave, bye guys." avery grabbed a juice out the fridge and walked into the guest room she was staying in.

sage watched as chris scrolled through netflix, fiddling with her nails. chris clicked on a random movie and got comfortable, removing the hoodie from his torso and sitting it onto the couch.

sage grabbed it and slid it over her head, bringing her knees to her chest.

"who was you talking to on the phone?" chris breaks the silence making sage roll her eyes. "some guy i met at the grocery store earlier, his names maree." sage was honest, she had no problem with being honest.

"mhm stop talking to him."

sage bit back her smile, keeping her eyes on the tv.
"you not my nigga chan." she simply says, making him chuckle.

"yet, so for the time being stop talking to him." the words leave his mouth kinda harshly, sage liked that.
she looks at him and he keeps his eyes firmly on the tv.

she admires him, his lips and hair had to be her favorite features about him. he's drop-dead handsome.

chris turns his head to her and she felt brave enough to not look away, she of course being the one to fold first.

"come here." chris opened his arms and sage playfully rolled her eyes but none the less made her way into his embrace.

they laid on the couch, sage cuddled into his side. chris smiled to himself. they were far from dating but he definitely felt at peace with the girl.
