Jay's POV

Everything happened so fast. One moment, I was closing in on the bastard, ready to put a bullet through his head. The next, his car started swerving wildly, tires screeching against the asphalt. It skidded and lost control, spinning out. I watched in shock as the car flipped over and over, metal crunching and glass shattering with each violent roll, until it finally landed wheels up, a mangled wreck.

"Kalia!" I shouted, panic rising in my voice as the car fishtailed wildly. I slammed the brakes on my bike and sprinted towards the wreckage, hoping to reach the car engulfed in flames. "Kalia, no!" I screamed, my voice cracking with fear.

"No, Jay! Stay back!" Jake yelled, desperation clear in his voice as he tried to hold me back. But I couldn't afford to stop. My eyes were locked on Kalia's still form, trapped inside the wreckage. Her face was pale, her eyes closed, and a thin stream of blood trickled down her forehead.

"I need to help her, Jake!" I shouted, my voice breaking with raw emotion. I fought against his grip, every fiber of my being focused on reaching her. She had to survive, and if she didn't, I was ready to go down with her.

The chaos around us seemed to blur, all I could see was Kalia. My heart pounded in my chest, a mix of fear and determination driving me forward. Jake's grip loosened, and I tore myself free, stumbling towards the overturned car.

Reaching the burning wreckage, I could feel the intense heat on my skin, making me squint to protect my eyes. I fought the urge to scream and focused on the one thing that mattered: getting her out. I dropped to my knees beside the wreckage, my hands trembling as I reached for the door, but it wouldn't budge. "Kalia, hang on," I whispered, my voice choked with tears. The smell of gasoline and smoke filled the air, but I didn't care. All that mattered was getting her out.

The rain did nothing to cool the flames that threatened to destroy everything. Time was running out, and I had to find a way to save her. "Stay with me, my heart," I screamed, my voice raw with pain. I reached through the broken window, glass cutting into my skin, and grabbed her hand. It was cold and unresponsive, sending a jolt of fear through me. "Come on, Kalia, stay with me," I pleaded, tears mixing with the rain on my face.

With a surge of adrenaline, I carefully pulled her from the car. I felt the weight of her fragility, her blood soaking into my clothes. "Stay with me, Kalia," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

I leaned in, gently cradling her head, my heart aching at the sight of her injuries. "You're going to be okay," I murmured, more to reassure myself than her.

Jake finally reached us, helping to carry her away from the burning car that looked like it could explode any second. Kalia was in my arms, battered and bleeding, but she was safe, and that was all that mattered.

The explosion finally came, wiping out any trace of Oscar, but I couldn't care less in that moment. All my focus was on her, lying there covered in blood, her body way too still. Her skin had lost its color, her eyes shut tight, and it was almost unbearable to look at her.

Panic tightened its grip on me as I reached out to check her pulse, finding only a weak and sporadic flicker of life. Fear surged through me, threatening to freeze me in place. With trembling hands and a racing heart, I started CPR, each push and breath driven by the desperate need to bring her back to me.

My emotions were all over the place—a wild mix of rage, despair, and frustration. It took everything I had to keep from screaming and cursing the cruel fate that had led us here. I couldn't afford to lose it, not now. I had to fight, for her and for us.

I strained to hear through the rain and caught a distant hum—the sound of an approaching helicopter. But when I pressed my trembling fingers to her neck, searching for any sign of life, there was nothing. No pulse, not even a faint one. Desperation clawed at my insides, threatening to overwhelm me.
