In Too Deep

chapter 1

CHAPTER 1-

I couldn’t tell where I was, somewhere in a forest. It was dark and gloomy, and lonely. I had wondered far from home, not knowing what to do. I checked my phone; it was about 7:56 PM. almost eight. I knew my sister, Angela, would freak if I wasn’t home by 8:15.  I quickly slipped my phone in my pocket.

Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes. I froze, dead in my tracks. It seemed a boy emerged from bush. He was sort of handsome, looked very sturdy and well-built. His hair was milk chocolate brown, and his eyes were a shade of blue.

He looked a lot stronger than me, but I knew I could take him. I thought about my movements. If I went left... would he go right? Suddenly, the boy came at me. He tried to punch my stomach, but quickly I moved away in time. It was up to me now. I had to win this fight.

I knew what I had to do. Go right, then go left, then across, then left... Then right again and then--

Oh who am I kidding? That's never going to work.... I didn't have much time to think. The Boy came at me once more, trying to knock me down. Ouch, that one hit me.

I was on the forest floor for about three minutes. I tried to get up, but I just kept falling. The boy looked at me with disgust.

“Looks like my job here, is done,” He said with a smirk on his face.

“W-w-where a-a-are you going?” I managed to say.

 “Oh, no where you’ll be going,” He laughed evilly, and ran off.

I was still lying on the forest floor. It was about thirty minutes later when Angela came looking for me and found me lying on the ground. She gasped. “Meg!! What Happened?” I tried to tell her, but I couldn’t speak.

Later I found myself in the emergency room. Guess I got beaten up pretty bad. The nurse had something pulled up on her computer. It was about a boy that went into forests and woods and made random attacks on helpless people. All the way at the bottom of the article it had said who the most recent victim. It was…… ME?? What? The article had said “...The boy’s name is Dominick, but no identified last name. He is about 16. The latest Victim of his attacking’s was Megan Tiller, 16. For more information go to WWW.CrimeStoppers.com.”

Well, that does explain that attack in the forest. But why would a guy do something like that?

 There was only one explanation. Dominick worked for Metal & CO. I knew I had to do something.

Metal & CO. was this evil corporation that thought they were making the world a better place, when really; they made it even crappier than in already was. Most people just named the scientists that worked there “Metals”.  It was filled with a bunch of goons who slumped around all day and didn’t do anything.

“NURSE!! NURSE!!” I cried. She came running over.

 “What is it?” she asked cautiously.

 I started telling her about Dominick. I had felt better than I did yesterday, but I was still a bit weak.

After she left, I quickly hopped off of the examining table and carefully looked out the door window.  Angela was outside. I didn’t want her to see me, but there was no way out without her seeing me. So I made up an excuse. I slipped into my clothes, and put my

hospital robe back on. I went out the door, and was in the hall way.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” Angela asked.

“I need to go to the bathroom…” I lied.

“Oh. Okay. Don’t be long.”  I walked over and gave her a hug. I thought it would be my last.

As I walked to the bathroom, prayed there would be a window in there.

When I got there, I silently cheered because there was a window. Yay. My escape should be easy.

I realized there was a bandage on my left ankle, so it was harder to walk. I limped off into the forest. “DOMINICK!” I called into the trees. There was a rustle of leaves and twigs. Dominick  jumped out. “Yes…? Oh, it’s you again. I thought I was finished with you?”

“Well your wrong!”

“Don’t get too far ahead of yourself, Dear.”

“Dear? Really?”

“Yes does that bother you?”

I didn’t answer. I went straight towards him… I had hit him! Don’t get too excited now, I thought, or you’ll end up losing… again. He suddenly ran off. I ran after him. I knew it was a stupid move. I also knew that I was in too deep.
