Anthea's P.O.V
It had been a week, a week since Jonathan was crowned King of all werewolves, a week since our parents had been murdered and still nothing. I know the investigators are doing their best but we can't be living in fear like this. The day after Jonathan had been crowned he, he put out a world wide curfew on all werewolves to be in doors by midnight except for pack guards that is, he also put out a ban on werewolf and human interaction, anyone found to break these new laws are to punished to the fullest extent.
I knew our parents death took huge toll on him and I didn't blame him for wanting to protect our people. I on the other hand was finding Tristan annoying, apparently he was given the task to not only be my trainer now but to be my guard when he isn't running errands for Jonathan, and yes this was all Jonathan's idea. Not like Tristan was complaining, he seemed to enjoy being around me which made it even more annoying. I always knew Tristan had a thing for me thanks to Chloe, but I never thought too much about it, cause well just like Chloe, he is Jonathan's best friend. They were literally the same age and were in separable which is why him being second was a great match, don't get me wrong the position is his by birth but still King's can always choose their seconds from other families if need be. Our family though have always stuck with the Silvers ever since our great-great-great grandfather changed his second to their family, apparently his supposed second back then had a very bad reputation and was very power hungry which is not a good trait for a leader. After the seconds family changed, the Smoothrocks were banished and were sent out to be rogues. I know that's literally the worst punishment, we still have no idea what exactly they did wrong but all we know is that they're trouble we don't want to come across ever again.
"Anthea focus!" Tristan shouts as his fist connects with my stomach. "urgh" I screamed in pain. I was in the middle of training with him and I zoned out, again. "You aren't focusing, again" Tristan shouted. I stood up straight and took a deep breathe as I breathed out I closed my eyes and felt a shift in the air, concentrating on only my breathing whilst also clearing my mind I feel a move from my right, my hand automatically coming up to block his fist. "Good" Tristan stated. He moved quickly as he jumped fist aiming towards my face. I could feel it, the air pushing towards me, and again I lifted both my arms to block his fist before giving him a blow. The next feeling I had was of my fist connecting with his chest, Tristan fell on to the ground. "Much better" Tristan muttered as he got off the floor. Tristan comes towards me, I stand there just watching his every move. He looks straight into my eyes, as I look straight back into his eyes. He stops just a foot away from me and leans down considering how much taller than me he is, leans down till me are both at eye level. His blue eyes like a deep never ending ocean, we hold eye contact for a good minute before he leans in closer, I close my eyes as I feel how close he is to me. "Well done Anthea" he whispers, heat rushed up onto my face, as I opened my eyes I see his back as he was already walking away.
"Does that mean we're done?" I asked hopeful. "Tomorrow again." Tristan shouts back as he continues to walks away to Moon Goddess knows where. Freak, make me blush and all. Urgh!
I walk back towards the house as we only train in the woods behind the house, with sweat dripping down my back, I knew today was really intense. I see Jonathan walking down the stairs. "Hey you" I state as he looks at me. "Hey you... how's your training with Tristan going?" Jonathan asks as he reaches me. "Its meh-" I say not interested in talking about training with a certain pair of blue eyes I definitely do not want to be thinking about.
"What do you mean it's meh? Anthea, this is literally for your own good" Jonathan gives me the look, sometimes I wonder if my father is really gone or he's still here in a younger form. Crap! Mother and Father, I never liked to think of them cause it makes me think back to last week, to the dream I had. Every time I see my father's lifeless body lying on the ground in front of the SUV that carried my mother's lifeless body. I felt a tear trying to escape but I kept it in.
Two days after we got their bodies, we buried them on the royal sacred grounds, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my whole life. I remember that day like it was just a few minutes ago.
=Flashback (Funeral)=
"Nooooo" I called as I tried so hard to hold myself up. "Shh.. I've got you Anthea" My brother held me as we watched the elders light up the altar my parents lay on. In our culture, royals were burned and their ashes were spread along our territory grounds, this was to ensure that no creature can come and disturb them as they made their way to the after life with the Moon Goddess. We believed that even in death our bodies still held onto power, for when the first werewolf was formed, the Moon Goddess bestowed her raw power onto him, that raw power we royals still carry to this day, it's in our bloodline for it was our ancestor that was the first werewolf. It is believed that Adolphus Greyback made other werewolves with a single bit, however he also made his line when he met his soulmate Selene. And that was how the royal family was formed.
The fire burst up into the sky dancing with the wind showing off it's colors of orange and yellow and a slight hint of red. It was beautiful, out of the smoke rose up blue fire, this blue fire signified my parents spirits. They rose into figures and danced along the flame, I could see my father reach his hand out into the flames, as a hand was placed into his, that belonged to my mother she got up holding both his hands. They turned and what seemed to look like they were smiling at Jonathan and I, father gave a final nod before the flames took them up into the sky. Up to the moon. I cried silently, letting go of all my pain and sadness knowing in peace that now they will be able to rest with the Moon Goddess.
=End of Flashback=
"I know Jonathan" I half smiled trying to hide my emotions. "Do you want to talk about it?" Jonathan asked as he looked into my eyes. Crap. He knows me too well. But I can't keep doing this, I can't keep breaking down in the middle oof thinking about my parents. "No, I'm good. You go do what you have to. I'm supposed to meet up with Chloe soon anyways." I replied. "Ok. I'll see you later" Jonathan stated as he made his way out of the house.
