The following day, the family gathered for a Sunday brunch. The air was filled with laughter and chatter, but Alex and Ashley were unusually quiet. Their minds were preoccupied with their newfound revelations about each other.

Alex stole glances at Ashley across the table, his heart pounding in his chest. He noticed how her eyes sparkled when she laughed at something their uncle said; he saw how she bit her lower lip when deep in thought - just like he had described in his songs.

Meanwhile, Ashley found herself lost in Alex's world as well. She watched him from the corner of her eye as he strummed an imaginary guitar on the table while talking to their cousin - just like she had written about him in her poems.

Their hearts yearned to reach out to each other, but fear held them back. They both knew they couldn't afford to let anyone else know about their feelings.

As evening fell upon New York City once again, they retreated into their respective sanctuaries - one composing melodies while the other penned verses - both echoing love for each other yet unspoken between them.
