The following week, Alex and Ashley found themselves alone in the apartment. Their parents had gone out for a dinner party, leaving them to their own devices.
Alex sat at his piano, fingers dancing over the keys as he composed a new melody - one that was filled with yearning and love. He imagined Ashley sitting next to him on the bench, her eyes sparkling as she listened to his music.
Meanwhile, Ashley sat in her room across the hall, penning down verses about a boy who played beautiful melodies that echoed her feelings perfectly. She imagined Alex reading her poems and recognizing himself in them.

Suddenly there was a knock on Alex's door. It was Ashley; she held up her poetry book shyly and asked if he would like to read some of her latest work. Heart pounding in his chest, Alex agreed.
In return, he played for her his newest composition - it was raw and emotional just like how he felt about her.
