Since being a judge, who is not a host, is something new to Anime Awards and adapted from Kpop Awards and other Awards, it is a new concept to most.

To make things easier, we have guides written down with tips and the judging criteria published publicly this year.

*̩̩͙JUDGING CRITERIA

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

Title: 0/5
Does the title fit the story? Is it unique and catchy? Does it pique your interest?

Cover: 0/5
At first glance, does the cover catch your attention? Are the pictures clear? Are the texts easy to read and did they add their watermark? Does the cover fit the story?

Description/Blurb: 0/5
The description should reveal just enough about the story and its main plot and/or its characters. It should not reveal too much nor too little. When reading the description, does it make you want to read the book?

Characters: 0/10
How are the characters portrayed? Whatever personality/motives/flaws the author has given them, do they stay in character? Are their signs of growth or is it clear that there will be room for growth? Are the characters interesting? And lastly, do the characters interactions seem realistic?

Grammar: 0/10
Grammar is very important. If there are too many mistakes -- such as capital letters (unless intentional aesthetics), sentence structure, spelling etc -- the reader is put off. Is the right grammar used? Is the writing easy to read and understand? Does the word choices and overall writing style make you want to keep reading?

Plot & Story: 0/15
Is the plot confusing? Is the storyline focused too much on subplots? Are there too many plot holes?

Opinions/Review:

Please add your opinion on the book. Overall, your thoughts on the book as a whole. It can be as long as you like, but a minimum of 4-5 sentences.

Commentary (optional):

One good point about the book; something you liked about the book. Or, words of encouragement. It can be one simple sentence or more, but it should stay positive.

*̩̩͙GUIDELINES

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

✰ The questions in the Judging Criteria do not need to be answered, but it would be helpful for authors if they are to ask for their review. But the 'Opinion/Review' is compulsory.

✰ The questions are just a guide if you are lost, so the questions are not limited to just those points we mentioned in the Judging Criteria.

✰ The 'Commentary' will be public in the results and the points too. But the personal review (such as opinions and answers to the questions if written) will be private and only sent to the author if they ask for the review.

✰ As said before, try to be as objective as possible.

✰ Do NOT simply start judging the books you see in your category, because you will be ASSIGNED books. This is very important for those who have specific preferences, for example: give a book without mature content to a judge who said no to mature content or give a judge who likes NaLu a book about NaLu.

✰ Send the review to theanimeawards_2022 and no one else, not even the authors whose book you are judging. We, the hosts, are in charge of sending the results and reviews to the authors due to personal requests and filtering.

✰ Do not be vulgar in the reviews.

✰ You will be given a deadline, but rest assured, it will be enough time. If not, discuss with the hosts about it.

✰ Judges can send reviews/results via email, google documents and private message
