"Addy sweetie! Come on dinner is ready," Mom's voice brought me out of my thought train, "Yeah, coming!" I called back, I slammed my shoulders as I could hear my heartbeats increasing I took a deep breath to calm my disorienting mind and focus on the speech I mentally prepared to tell Mom about my pregnancy,
It's been a week since I got to know about my one-month pregnancy, the visit to the doctor and the time I last saw him... It seemed like ages I shook my head, focus, Addy! Don't think of him what matters now is only 'how to spill to Mom' which is pretty hard I must admit, I have been unto tell her for two days but I just couldn't but today I have to because I have an appointment with Doctor and I don't wanna lie to Mom,
I looked down at my belly, "Hey cupcake wish mumma luck," I whispered and inhaled deeply before getting up, I made my way to the kitchen and sat down Mom seemed happy serving and smiling for some reason, I wondered how she would react after listening to the news,
"No, Addy, don't scare yourself you have to do this for your child who deserves everyone's love."
Grace was humming texting her friends, "Mom... Listen I... I have something to tell you," I said Grace had already stopped texting eyeing me curiously my heart paced quickly, "Yes, sweetie I'm listening," she replied, her back facing me.
"Mom— I'm pregnant..." Here I said it, a pin-drop silence swept until Grace spat juice out, "Holy Mother Jesus!" Grace exclaimed Mom slowly turned to face me a frown upon her forehead framing her confused state, she came to me not breaking eye contact, "What do you mean?" She bored her eyes into mine, "I... I mean I'm pregnant," My heart is thumping under my chest,
"Pregnant what...? Like carrying baby pregnant?" Gracy got up and stood beside Mom I nodded and looked down biting my lower lip an excruciating silence fell Mom held my chin and made me look up, "Gracy go get ready for school," Mom said Gracy looked between me and Mom opened her mouth to object but one look from Mom shut her sighing defeatedly she strode out,
I was about to look down again but Mom didn't let me, "Never look down," She said, "Azriel Harrington is the father isn't he?" My eyes widened I just stared at Mom unable to say anything, her eyes softened she cupped my face, "Hey, sweetie, it's okay..." Mom pulled me into the much-needed hug she broke the hug and led me to the living room she sat with me holding my hand,
"How... How do you know the baby is—" I trailed off she sighed, "You are my daughter do you think I can't read you? Sweetie when I mention Azriel Harrington when you came back the look on your face said it all but I chose not to say anything thinking you might lose interest in him while being home though I admit the Addy I know who used to smile doesn't matter what has lost that said of her,
I've been waiting for you to tell me yourself about what happened there but you never came, so tell me now what occurred in Manchester in these past months," That look on her face absolutely says she isn't gonna hear any excuses so I begin from the start.
