Chapter 2: The Beginning of the End of the Curse

After exhausting possibilities, Emma and Lacey find their way to Henry's school. Regina does not join them since she's adamant on checking if he's at the local candy shop. Upon entering the building, they head to Mary Margaret Blanchard's classroom.

Mary Margaret Blanchard is Henry's teacher and Lacey thinks she may be able to help them find him.

"Hi Lacey," Mary Margaret smiles as the two women enter her classroom. "I'm actually glad you came. I was hoping you could fill me in on Henry's absence today."

"Actually that's why we're here," Lacey explains. "This is Henry's birth mother," Lacey introduces the two.

"Hi, Emma Swan!" She shakes Mary Margaret's hand and smiles brightly. "We're actually looking for Henry. He ran away this morning and we can't find him."

"Oh," Mary Margaret furrows her eyebrows. "Try looking for him at his castle. I bet you that's where he is," Mary Margaret suggests.

"I know exactly what she's talking about," Lacey gasps. She then leads Emma to a wooden jungle gym that resembles Prince Charming's castle. "I knew it!" Lacey exclaims as her eyes light up, seeing Henry sitting on the jungle gym. "I'll text Regina and let her know we found him."

"Hey Kid," Emma walks towards Henry who is sitting on the jungle gym. "Is everything okay?" Emma sits down next him as Lacey follows behind, texting away on her phone. "Henry turns his head towards his birth mother.

"I thought you left." Tears fall down Henry's cheeks as he looks at the blonde twenty-eight year old.

"I would have if I didn't crash into the welcome sign last night," Emma responds.

"You can't go," Henry protests. "You're the savior, and you're supposed to break the curse!"

"Oh, Sorry Emma," Lacey apologizes as she puts her phone in her purse. "Henry thinks we're all really fairytale characters stuck in a....."

"It's okay Lacey," Emma interrupts her. "Henry already explained this to me last night."

"I'm being serious!" Henry cries out. Emma glances at her son with concern.

"Maybe I should stay," Emma contemplates. "But only temporarily. I wanna make sure you're okay, and I'm skeptical of Regina's motives. She was adamant I leave town after searching for you."

"See you're starting to get it," Henry perks up. "Regina wants you gone because she's the Evil Queen, and she knows you're the Savior!" Henry pulls his fairytale book out of his bag, and opens it up, pointing out an illustration of the Evil Queen. "See, that's Regina."

"I question Regina's motives too," Lacey adds. "She's very angry and threatens to dock my pay a lot."

"Henry!" Regina shouts frantically as she runs towards her son. "You need to stop running off, it worries me to much!" Regina cups Henry's cheeks, and smiles as she gazes into her son's eyes. "Now come on, we need to go!"

Regina grabs Henry by the hand, and pulls him along with her as she walks away from the wooden jungle gym. "Lacey, come now!" Regina commands. "We need to go back to my house. I'm writing you a grocery list so you can go shopping for me today. I also need you to watch Henry. I have work I need to attend to."

"Well, I guess I'll see you around Emma," Lacey grins.

"Yep, I guess so," Emma responds before Lacey turns to follow Regina to her car.
