The Valiant, the Believer & the Curse~

Location~Storybrooke
Point in Time~Present Day

Another day in the small seaside town passes, and Emma is at the kitchen table of Mary Margaret's loft with Jake and her, eating dinner.

"Mary Margaret, this pasta you made is to die for," Emma smiles as she compliments the twenty-seven year old's cooking.

"Thank you Emma," Mary Margaret replies. "Are you enjoying it Jake?" The dark haired man sits there in silence, ignoring his sister's question. He looks down at his food, but doesn't take a bite. Mary Margaret takes notice of this and stands up.

"Jake, can we have a talk?" The dark haired woman rubs his shoulder. Jake stands up, and follows Mary Margaret out of her loft. They walk next door to Jake's loft, and Mary Margaret shuts the door behind them. "Are you seeing Judy again?" Mary Margaret begins to interrogate her brother. Jake rubs the back of his neck awkwardly as he tenses up.

"Yeah, what's it to you?" Jake scoffs at his sister as he grows evermore annoyed.

"Jake, I care about you, and this 'relationship' you have with her is clearly not healthy. You guys are on again off again, and I can tell when you're on again cuz you aren't yourself. It's like you're depressed when you're dealing with her and yet you still see her." Mary Margaret blows up on her brother as she grows angry for her him. "She must be manipulating you with temptation."

"She's not manipulating me! Stay out of my business!" Jake shouts at Mary Margaret as he fumes with anger. "I think you should leave!" Jake points to the front door.

On the other side of the door, Emma is eavesdropping. She furrows her eyebrows after hearing Jake and Mary Margaret's exchange. She then quickly finds her back to Mary Margaret's loft across the hall as Jake tells his sister to leave.

When Mary Margaret enters her loft, Emma watches as she grabs Jake's bowl of food and aggressively tosses it in the sink. She begins to rinse it off as her breathing increases.

"Mary Margaret, are you okay?" Emma questions the twenty-seven year with concern. Mary Margaret turns and faces Emma.

"Jake doesn't understand his worth." Mary Margaret's eyes begin to fill with tears. "He's such a good man, and there's a woman out there that will truly appreciate him, I believe it. But, he continues to settle for Judy Miller who's done nothing but destroy his mental health."

Oh Mary Margaret, I'm so sorry," Emma walks towards the short haired woman and hugs her.
