••••••••••••••••••• § Austin's POV § •••••••••••••••••••••
It's been a week since I saw Tyler and Malorie. But I got the job! I am now a certified host at Barry's Buffet and it's not as difficult as I thought it would be. I've seen a few of my high school friends and I apologized to Aaron's mom, even if it wasn't what she thought happened. I'm still dealing with the scar problem but having Tyler knowing about it makes me feel like I'll be a lot less nervous around him. Arizona has her friend over right now and he looks weird, Mom and Dad think he's a possible interest for Ari; I doubt it though. He's taller than her, he has dirty blonde hair, and he wears the same dark blue hoodie everywear. I looked into college and I found one near town that I'd like to visit, I have the summer and fall to choose but I still haven't asked Mom or Dad if I should even do college. I'm sitting in my room working on a college application, making sure I have all of my credits written out and my GPA fixed. Looking at the majors list, I've seen Nursing, Veterinary Practices, and Accounting which for the University of Missouri looks like a lot of arithmetic and calculus. I looked into getting my license but it doesn't seem likely, I heard about a Quarterback in Connecticut that fainted behind the wheel after practice and he lost control of his legs in the crash. So, I'm not saying I'm scared to drive, but I'm not not saying that.

"Austin!" My mom yells from the steps, probably calling to have me watch Ari and the kid while they go to date dinner. Did I mention it's my mom and dad's anniversary?

  "Yes, mom?"

"I need you to watch your–"

"You need me to watch Ari and the kid, I know. You guys go, have fun! Be husband and wife not mom and dad, I got it."

"Thank you, hunny. Would you mind zipping this?" I don't think I've ever rushed downstairs so fast. It's not that I want them to leave, it's just that they haven't had a break in.... In a while. I rushed to zip her dress but I at least made sure her hair and skin weren't in the way. "Are you sure we shouldn't just stay home?"

  "Mom."

  "What?"

"If you leave dad waiting in the car any longer, he's going to lose his mind."

  "He's in the car already!?"

"Oh my God." How hadn't she realized? I watched as she left through the front door and raced back upstairs, into my room, and opened my phone immediately. I opened uText to see his name right away, "Cowboy 🐴: Let me know *9:20 AM",

  "Hi               *6:52 PM" (Austin G)
  "Hey :)" (Cowboy 🐴)
"Would you like to meet up tonight?     *6:53 PM"
"Sure! Where?        *6:54 PM" (Austin G)

"Excuse me, where is the bathroom again?" Arizona's weird friend asks from my doorframe.

"Two doors down the hall, that way." I explained, pointing left. Once the kid leaves the doorway and I hear the door shut, I ran to Arizona's room.

"Hey, Aussie." She knew it was me by my footsteps. What is she?

"Dude, who is that kid? He's weeird!"

"He's my cover-up. Emma has been asking to come over and I'm worried Mom and dad will get suspicious if I only bring girls over."
