Reawakened

Umbra had found himself within a forest back in Remnant, his body pulsing with pain as he lay on his back, coughing up some dust from his lungs, Umbra tried to stand but found his body weakened greatly, he could only assume it was his body getting adjusted to everything, finally managing to stand to his feet, Umbra had to lean on a nearby tree to keep himself standing, looking down, he saw the wounds Salem gave him, he knew it would be a while before they healed.

Sitting down for a brief second, Umbra tried to think of a way to move forwards, he had been dead for 5 years and many things had no doubt changed, he knew most people simply forgot about him, this left Umbra in quite the situation as he knew Ozpin would most likely distrust him and wouldn't even spare the time of day for him, joining Salem was out of the question as Umbra now promised to defeat Salem and instil peace on remnant, with the options he had, umbra knew there was very few ways of moving forwards.

Umbra: I need to think, I need to think of ways to move forth...

Umbra felt his hope slowly fading but tried to remain calm, getting worked up wouldn't do anything and would only serve to add to Umbra's stress, the elder grimm took a deep breath before standing up, his armour covered in mud and rain, trying to think of a way forth, only one person came into mind...

Summer Rose...

While Umbra wasn't sure if barging back into Summer's life was a good idea as she had most likely forgot about him or either moved on, Umbra didn't want to bring Summer back into the fray, he was well aware that she was his only hope, looking into the rainy skies for only a second, umbra made his mind up, he would search for Summer and ask for her help, he hoped the young woman would be willing to give him a chance, if she could vouch for him and get other's the trust him, umbra knew he might stand a chance then.

Umbra quickly looked around for some form of landmark, anything to tell him where he was, scanning the area for anything, Umbra would have praised the brother for sending him here, a small sign lay on the side of a path informed Umbra that he was somewhere in Patch, the very place where Summer and her family lived, quickly moving forth throughout the forest, Umbra moved foe a brief few seconds before crippling pain pulsed through his body.

Falling to one knee and coughing uncontrollably, Umbra found his body failing, he watched as his aura cracked and broke, He quickly realised something was wrong, his armour started to crack while his new aura tried to repair the damage, yet after a few seconds, Umbra realised it was the soul he now possessed that caused him pain, it was rejecting his body, he could only assume his body would take a while to adjust to having both a soul and aura, soon the pain slowly vanished and Umbra stood back up, while still sore, he pressed on...

Moving throughout the forest with nothing but his footsteps being heard, Umbra froze dead in his tracks as he noticed everything was too quiet, so much so someone could drop a pin and it could be heard, Umbra quickly heard some thicket behind him crunching and on cue, Several Beowulf's revealed themselves, emerging from the dark forest with mouths full of razor sharp teeth, their claws having dried blood on them as they got closer to Umbra, the grimm seemed shocked when they saw Umbra, so much so that a few titled their heads in confusion, yet the innate rage soon showed it's head.

Without warning a Beowulf charged towards Umbra who was still badly wounded, trying to dodge for a brief second, Umbra felt his side get slashed as the Beowulf charged forth, regaining his footing however, Umbra raised his fists up and prepared to fight.

Umbra: TRY ME!

One Beowulf ran towards Umbra and tried to bit down on his left leg, despite his pain, Umbra dodged forth and swung his leg up and kicked the Beowulf with all his might, the kick managed to kill the Beowulf dead on the spot as it's head flew from it's body, the Beowulf's body slowly vanished into dust, yet umbra stood shocked when the dust slowly flew into him instead, confused on what had happened, Umbra's train of thought was quickly derailed when he felt his body filled up with newfound power.
