"Mira does make a perfect cassoulet." Emily muses to the girls.

"Who's Mira?" Birdie asks confused.

"Our cook." She replies, dabbing a napkin to her upper lip.

"I thought the cook was Heidi." Lorelei chimes in.

"We let Heidi go months ago, She had a problem closing things..."

"The door, the refrigerator..." Richard adds.
"The liquor bottle" Emily snarls.

"Then it was trina, I liked Sophia. Then Sophia." Richard smiles slightly.
"She was the one who sang." Emily rolls her eyes.
"That's right... terrible woman." Richard grumbled.

Birdie rolls her eyes as the two banter back and forth

"And after Sophia, we had Anton." Emily continues.
"That's right. Anton was the one that I liked." Richard nods.

"I'm sorry, dad." Lorelei huffs confused. "How do you mix up Anton and Sophia?" She continues.

"What do you mean?" Richard questions.
"One is a man, and one is a woman." She explains to him.
"And your point being?" He asks.
"That one is a man and one is a woman." Angela reiterates for Lorelei.

Birdie and Rory look at each other exasperated.

"I have a lot to do in a day, girls."
"We can obviously tell grandpa" Birdie rolls her eyes.

"I don't have time to keep up with the multitudes of people your mother employs." He ignores her.

"But one is a man, and one is a woman." Lorelei sighs but drops it.

The dinner was so wonderful, Mira." Lorelei says to the maid.

"It's Sarah." The maid replied, giving Lorelei a disgusted look.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Lorelei apologized. "Mom, her name is Sarah!"

"I thought she said Mira." Emily shrugs.

"Hey, grandma, these plates are really pretty." Rory jumps in, trying to diffuse the tension.

"Thank you. They were your great-grandmother's." She replied. "Lorelai, the first."

"I thought aunt Lorelei was the first?" Birdie asks confused.

"Not in the name." Emily sighs.

"But in many other things, I was a trailblazer." Lorelei jokes, and birdie snickers.
"Just finishing your thought, mom."

"Lorelai the first was my mother." Richard smiles.
"She was an extremely accomplished equestrian, a distinguished patron of the arts, and she was also world-famous for her masquerade balls."
"She was quite a woman."

"Yes, she was. Mira, cut the cake!" Emily yells to the maid.

"Yes, and why don't you bring Sarah out here with you?" Birdie giggles.

"So, Lorelai, how are things at that charming little inn of yours?" Emily asks whilst eating her dessert.

"They're still charming and little, We're crossing our fingers it doesn't become rude and large." Lorelei jokes.

"Mom's having a huge wedding there this week." Rory says excitedly.
"Really?" Richard questions.
"There's people coming from all over the country." Lorelei nods.
"Well, isn't that nice?" Richard hums.
