16: Trust?

Lizzie's POV: 

Heading off to work was hard but I have to go. Scarlett and I didn't get very far off to work before we received a call from Ashley. 

L: Hello?

A: Hey um can you talk Y/n down a bit? She turned over while being in MK's lap and just all of a sudden realized that you had left. I think the panic attack had put her in a daze so she can't remember you telling her goodbye.

L: Hand over the phone Ash.

A: Here you go kiddo Lizzie is on the phone. 

Y/n: You left, you didn't say goodbye.  I could hear the quiver in her voice as she spoke.

L: Y/n I told you kiddo, but I will repeat myself to you. Scarlett and I have to go to work for a few hours and we will be back as soon as we are done okay? there is nothing to worry about we aren't leaving you behind or anything we are just going to work. I would have brought you with me but there are going to be a lot of people you don't trust and won't want to be left alone while I can't tend to you. 

I heard the big deep breath she needed to take to come in and out slowly as she steadied herself, without me saying a thing. 

Y/n: You'll be home soon? I won't be alone? 

MK: Hey I'm right here!

I heard a loud smack, and from the sounds of it, Ashley shushed MK. 

L: Yes baby I'll be home soon I can't tell you exactly when but I will be home in time for you to have breakfast, the twins will put you to bed and they will be home with you all night. Is that okay?

Y/n: Yeah, I guess so. 

L: Okay we talk more depth about this kind of stuff when I get home and or in the future before I go to work again. I'm supposed to be taking two weeks off so I can stay home and we can spend time together alright? 

Y/n Yeah, okay. 

L: Okay baby. Can you hand the phone back to one of the twins?

The rushing of the phone indicated she was handing over the phone to someone. 

Y/n: She wants to speak to one of you. 

MK: Alright Ash take the phone. I would like to take you up to get ready and clean your bandages again, please. She sounded as if she were asking Y/n and being direct about it at the same time. 

A: Hey! Thank you, she was really confused and I didn't want her spiraling, and having a bigger problem. It seems as though she calmed down, she even led MK upstairs to the bathroom from the looks of it. Whatever you said it helped a lot more than normal. 

L: Well I just tried to be more understanding. I've been a bit harsh we have to go at her speed. I explained the situation the best I could, allowing us to speak more about it in the future. Please make sure she gets to bed at a decent time. I know it has been hard for her to get good sleep. 

A: Already on it I'm thinking about bringing the laptop up and turning on a movie or show in hopes of putting her to sleep tonight. Probably not the best idea for the future meaning she might need a TV but for now in hopes of good sleep we will have to see!

L: Alright like I said it shouldn't be more than a few hours and we will be back before breakfast if you could try and delay breakfast to no later than 10 if I'm not home yet. 

A: Yes Liz I can do that. Anything else?  She said that very sarcastically.

L: I'm turning back into a full mother again aren't I?
