Careful Princess

"What is going on!?" Katy screamed.

The big wolf was still chasing us. I've never seen a wolf that big!

"The Big Bad is real!?" Romano screamed.

"Now is not the time Roman!" We all screamed simultaneously. Oh man oh man. The wolf was now closer to our car and I started to panic.

"Dad? Dad where are you?" I laughed running.

"Kylie stay where you are!"
"What? The game is over?" I asked curiously.

"Okay honey just count to five okay?" Dad screamed and I did what he ordered me to do.

"One, two, three, four, five. Ready or not here I come!" I screamed searching for dad.

"Dad! Daddy come on wake up. Dad. Please..."

"Kylie! Snap out of it!" Tracy screamed shaking me out of my thoughts.

"Kylie!"
"I heard you." I whispered trying to keep my breathing normal.

"Where's the wolf?" I asked coming back to my senses.

"We lost it. We're at the main road." Roman said and I breathed the sigh of relief.

"We nearly died. I nearly died!" I whispered yelled at everyone.

"Kylie, it's okay. We're safe." Tracy said soothing my back.
I moved away from her.

"I shouldn't have listened to you guys!" I yelled.

"Kylie, we know that all of that reminded you of..."

"Don't." I threatened.
I got out of the car as fast as I could. I ran to the house to find mom cooking.

I tried to ignore her by running up the stairs but she caught me just as I was about to climb the third step.

"Back so soon? I knew that you couldn't handle the wild." Mom laughed. I tried to laugh but the tears betrayed me.

"Lee. What's wrong?"

"We were chased by a wolf." Katy blurted out and I sobbed.

"Oh. Lee honey." I didn't give her the chance to finish when I started running up to my room. I shut down the door with all my might.

"You went where there are wolves!? You know how she feels about wolves!!" I heard my mom scream at my cousins.

I went to the bathroom to wash my face and get rid of the terror that was in my light brown eyes. My straight blonde hair out of place. My tan skin coated in sweat.

Come on. Breathe Kylie.

"Kylie! Run! Don't look back!"
"Daddy! Daddy!"

"Ky Run!"

"Dad."

I got of of the bathroom and stood next to my bed. I'm not going back there again.

I'm gonna have those nightmares again. I won't sleep.

I took the bottle of sleeping pills. Just this once. It won't be bad.

I took two pills from the bottle.
"Kylie! Don't you dare take those pills!" Mom screamed causing me to freeze.

"Give me that! You know what happened when you took those pills Kylie." She said snatching the pills away from me.

"I can't lose you too!" She said then went out if my room. She was upset and I understand that.

I opened my window and stood next to it looking at the moon.

Something was in the tree. I squinted my eyes to see what it was. "Puddle! How did you get up there?"

Puddle is my best pet ever. He is a cat. I found him hurt and dirty just after the incident. I called him Puddle because I found him in the muddy puddle.

"Okay calm down. I'm gonna get you down." How am I going to get him down?

I climbed out of my window. My house was a double story house and my window was so high.

I reached for Puddle but he got scared and moved further away.

"Puddle!" I whined frustratedly.
I reached again and this time I nearly fell. Okay. Steady.

Puddle meowed scared.

I reached one last time losing my balance.
I screamed waiting to hit the ground but the ground never came.

"Careful Princess." That voice.

"How...How did you do that? What are you doing here?" I asked in a hurry.

"Puddle!" I screamed looking for my cat. I jumped off his hands.

Seriously? This guy saved me and I push him away to look for my cat. It's a good excuse right?

"Relax. Lemme get him for you." Andrew chuckled climbing the tree with ease.

"Be careful."
He looked at me almost shocked then smiled.

Andrew climbed up and up until he reached Puddle. He did something with his hands and Puddle ran to him.

This feels like a betrayal. How could Puddle do this to me?

"Here you go."

"You landed on your feet." I was amazed.

"Gymnastics." He said handing me Puddle.

"Oh. What are you doing here?"

"I was taking a walk then I saw you climb up the tree trying to get your cat down. And I knew this was a disaster." He said zipping his leather jacket.

He then walked away. Wait I didn't thank him.

"Andrew! Thank you!" I screamed after him and he nodded before he literally ran off.
