Ai Hoshino II

Today is a big day. I'm (finally) leaving the maternity ward. I'm going to discover my new house (or flat) in which I'll be living. I'll have a room all to myself, not a cot in the middle of thousands of others where babies cry 24/7.

I'm now in a car seat in a car with my brother, my mother and my children... Er, I mean father and aunt. Whoa, I've got to sort this out before I can talk. Wait a minute, this is just a theory but... Would I be able to talk now that I've been reincarnated?

So I promised myself I'd try next time I was on my own. It was worth a try.

-Hi, Ai! Yûto exclaimed, leaning towards me with a big smile on his face

-Babu ❤️. I replied, trying to imitate baby talk.

-Wow, she's so cute! exclaimed my big boy with an expression on his face like this:

Mum laughed a little and I swear I
saw a little smile pass quickly over Aqua's face.

Mummy let out a little laugh and I swear I saw a little smile go quickly across Aqua's face.

Yuto was a little boy in all his splendour.

Personally, I think his character is a lot like Aqua's, only happier. On the other hand, he inherited everything from his mother. Except for the
star-shaped pupil in his right eye.

As for me, whether it was my physical appearance or my hair colour, I didn't know. There were no mirrors at the maternity hospital.

I finally got my chance when we got home. It was a big modern flat, but it felt like home.

My mother had put me on the sofa while she went to prepare a bottle.Yuto was playing on the carpet and Aqua had gone to his room to read a book.

Opposite the white sofa was a glass coffee table.

I managed to lean over far enough to see my reflection.

I had wavy blond hair. Two big blue eyes with a star-shaped pupil in each of them.

Yuto looked like Mum and I looked like Aqua.

I don't think I'll ever be able to call him Dad.

Even though my body had changed, he was still my son in my heart.

Meanwhile, my mother had returned to the living room with the bottle.

I looked at it with incomprehension, did she REALLY think I was going to drink it?

In a flash I suddenly remembered that... I didn't have any teeth yet.

So in short, I couldn't eat anything apart from the bottle.

How humiliating!

I looked at the bottle with such horror that my mother leaned towards me worriedly.

-Does anything hurt? she asked, a worried wrinkle on her forehead.

Playing it safe, I replied, shaking my head:

-Babou!

Akana put a hand on my forehead.

-You don't have a fever. Do you want to sleep, Ai?

I bobbed my head up and down. Anything to put off humiliation for a few minutes!

-It still bothers me that you're not eating. I know I'm imagining things, but you seem to understand me! Mum said, laughing.

I froze.

Oups.

I'd forgotten that babies don't understand anything and that my acting was terrible.

They'd even deleted my scenes from that TV film by director Gotanda.

Ruby said I was a great actor, but I couldn't think of any other reason why they'd skipped my scenes!

Meanwhile, Akane had prepared my cot and put me in it.

I thought I was going to spend a lot of time bored, but this body was still that of a 2-month-old child.

Which meant he was always asleep.

-Hi there!

I woke up with a start and dropped the cuddly toy in my hand in shock.

Leaning over me was Ruby Hoshino, my former daughter and current aunt.

She picked me up without warning.

Your father and mother went to see Yuto's piano recital. So they asked me to look after you. But I've got a concert SO I'm going to take you with me and leave you backstage! she explained cheerfully.

Like I'm supposed to understand that! Please use your head, Ruby, you were so clever when you were a kid!

In five minutes we were in Ruby's concert hall.

Ruby left me in the care of make-up artists and dressers who were delighted to take care of me.

Suddenly a member of the technical team said:

-B Komachi, you're on in five minutes!

I opened my eyes wide.

B... Komachi?

Like the group I was leading?!

The dresser who was carrying me mingled with the crowd of fans so that we could see the concert too.

I heard an unfamiliar voice exclaim:

-Hello everyone! We're B Komachi!
