Saturday morning rolled around and Riley groggily sat up in bed. The few rays of sunshine filtered its way into her bedroom through the small gaps in her curtains. She stretched out her arms until she heard the soft pops of her joints cracking and let out a satisfied groan. She looked over at the time on her phone, noticing that it was still 7:06; she quickly hurried off to the bathroom to brush her teeth and shower so she can have breakfast with Mr. Kade before he leaves for work.

She made it downstairs in a pair of grey sweatpants and a black baggy t-shirt and black socks with pick dinosaurs on it. She found her father already dressed for work and dishing up 2 plates of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with a glass of orange juice for Riley and a fresh cup of coffee for himself.

"Oooh breakfast!" Riley exclaimed excitedly as she took a seat at the kitchen island opposite her father.

"Don't act so surprised, Riles. The only reason you came down was coz you could smell it," Mr. Kade joked around. Riley just smirked knowing this was probably true and lifted her fork to her face to start eating.

"Your friend still coming over today?"

"Who? Brianna? Yeah, we gotta build a working model demonstrating how the different joints work in the body. It's for bio by the way. Also we were thinking of just building a model of the whole body like those skeleton things they have in class but with recycled material..." She went on and on.

Mr. Kade let out a thunder of a laugh at his daughter's excited ramblings.

"Right, I'm off. Try not to have too much fun," Mr. Kade said as he gathered his briefcase getting ready to leave for the office. He left Riley with some cash to order some takeout for herself and Brianna. Soon, the sound of a car engine was just a distant noise as he made his way into town.

Riley decided to wash up the dishes and neaten the house bit before her red headed friend would arrive. It wasn't long after she had sat down to watch cartoons that she heard a knock on her front door. Riley opened the door and stared in amusement at the huge cardboard box that blocked the carrier's face. Slowly the box was lowered to reveal a grinning Brianna all dressed up in her usual stylish black attire.

She placed the box down in the lounge when she was invited in and admired the Kade's home. Being the good hostess that she was, Riley offered her friend something to drink and snacks before they got started. Brianna politely declined the snacks stating that she had already eaten breakfast and is still full but accepted a bottle of water from the taller girl.

The duo sat on the floor as they worked on their project together. Deciding which materials would work best and how to join it together demonstrating the full range of movement of the joints. Riley had already completed the poster as agreed upon as Brianna searched for materials they could use for their model. Also, Riley was a lot more artistic so it was a no brainer as to who should do the poster. With the upper and lower limbs already built, they decided to call it a day and finish the rest over the course of the following week. Being that it was a little past midday, both girls were starving and decided to order some pizza with the money that Mr. Kade had left for them.

Somewhere towards the middle of the forest, a black wolf was out patrolling the area. Kai found that partaking in certain duties apart from her alpha ones helped her understand her pack better, reconnect with nature and it made her feel closer to her parents in way. Her father always told her that the pack would always respect you more if they saw you out and as partaking in their duties and as one of them and not just their leader. This is advice that Kai lived by. She saw how her father had gained the respect and adoration and vowed to lead in a way that would him proud.

Kai dipped her head towards a small stream and lapped up the cool water. Kai stood up and shook her fur out with the intention of continuing on her patrol. As she was about to pad away softly, something caught her attention. She tentatively sniffed the air. The most foul of odours invaded her senses. She took off sprinting, following the scent to a nearby cave. This rogue's scent was strong and all over the cave like they've been living here for weeks. This wasn't a good sign. A rogue has gone undetected on pack territory for weeks. It was dangerous. For both the humans and the wolves.
